Review: Since debuting a few years ago, ScuScru has released a lot of rather good, sample-rich music - much of it either inspired by quality deep house, or his love of dusty, sample-rich, MPC-driven instrumental hip-hop. Here he debuts on a new label, Dancing Vinyl, delivering an EP of bona-fide party-starters based around good-time grooves, life-affirming samples and peak-time intent. He begins with '303 Baby', a bumpin' and rollin' disco-house gem where sampled elements and nods to dance music's past rub shoulders with twisted acid lines, before sprinting off into acid-disco territory on the riotously funky 'Love Is Taking Me Over'. 'Watashi Mo' is a Japanese pop-sampling slab of bouncy disco/house fusion, while 'OK' is a hip-swinging jazz-house bumper set to ignite dancefloors all summer long.
