Review: Cold Diggin are on a mission right now, and they're coming back with another of their Duke helmed sure shots. On this occasion they've become The 2 Live Duke, and if the clue wasn't in the name just look at the artwork. This is a tribute to the legendarily filthy 2 Live Crew, and whoever this Duke is, they know exactly what to do with jams as saucy as 'One & One' and 'Me So Horny'. The B-side cut in particular digs in on some serious funk breaks to give the original rhymes a whole new playing field. If you want something cheeky to get the party loosened up, look no further.

Review: Cold Diggin' kick off a new series here that is designed to acquaint you with the talents of 'The Dude Ya Love To Hate. We can't find out much information about he, or she, or them, but can only assume more is to come given this 7" has its own catalogue naming convention. This first limited one-off pressing comes on one-sided black vinyl with a silk screen print. 'I Like Your Stye' is raw and irresistible jungle, library and funk fusion from front to back. A great one to cop, and a great new artist to keep tabs on for sure.

Review: New label Cold Diggin has taken a whole year to get from release number one to number two. This one again comes from The Duke Ya Love To Hate, which is one of myriad aliases of an artist who gets by the name of Stefan Senf. Cutting, chopping, editing is his game and here offers the nice and soulful roller that is 'Cloud Nine' with its crisp boom bap, leggy drums and languid riffs. 'Make It Ruff' is a pile of ramshackle loops that feel like they could collapse around you at any time. As long as they hold together though they mark for a dark beatsrumental.

Review: Dresden's Cold Diggin label present this cool and deadly 7" of crafty, funked up edits from someone credited as The Duke Ya Love To Hate. This isn't a straight up re-lick of existing parts, but rather a liberal version excursion with some tasteful dubbing of iconic source material. If you're going to get busy with something as vital as Maceo Parker's 'Soul Power 74', you'd best come correct, and fortunately The Duke has what it takes to get you popping, dipping and spinning with approval.

'Introducin' is a loose-limbed funk workout with classic hip-hop breaks and free-wheeling pads. 'Prescribin' is more slow and seductive with its florid melodic leads and lovely lazy beats.
