Customs and Import Duty (Mail Order)

How It Works | Payment, Charges and Tax | Customs and Import Duty (Mail Order) | Postage | Delivery Times For Mail Order

Updated sales tax information 2023

UK Tax for Overseas orders

If you are outside of the UK, we remove the 20% UK sales tax from the cost of your order before sending it. The tax deduction is made at the point of ordering and there is no need to apply for any rebate after the order is placed. Tax deductions only apply to goods purchased (records, CDs, equipment, etc.), and not to postage. (There is no VAT on UK postage). Tax-free orders must be delivered to an address outside the UK. Orders from non-UK residents to be delivered within the UK do not qualify.

Import Tax

Please note that import taxes will apply to orders that you place for delivery outside of the UK. The qualifying values and rates will vary for each country, and be applied to goods and the shipping fee, so please check with your local Customs team for more information. You as the purchaser hold full responsibility for ensuring that your import tax is paid and not Juno. Juno will also not take responsibility for any additional costs you incur by importing theses goods. (See full Terms and Conditions for more information) If you are unable to pay your import fee, or refuse to, and the goods are returned to Juno, we will reserve the right to deduct the cost of the original and return shipping fees, along with any costs incurred on recovering the goods, from your final refund or credit.

EU orders

From 1st July 2021 VAT will be charged on all imports to the EU regardless of value. (The previous exemption for goods valued up to €22 prior to this date no longer applies). VAT will apply at the rate of the buyer’s country of residence which is different for each country so please check with your local Customs team for the current rate.

If the value of your order is under €150 you will pre-pay your import tax in advance at the time of placing your order. The rate and value of EU tax you will pay will be clearly displayed in your cart when you total the bill. Juno register this payment so your local customs team can see it and allow your order through for delivery. If the value of your order is over €150 you will be required to pay import fees at the current rate for that country when the parcel arrives at the country of delivery.

Additional Fees

Admin handling fees maybe charged by the courier or postal service who are processing your VAT payment.

Outside the EU your local customs may add import duty/local sales tax to your order when delivering. Most countries will allow small packages (less than £30) to be delivered without additional charges, but some countries will tax your order (usually at a rate equivalent to your local sales tax) when you receive your parcel.

Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore GST Tax.

For orders to Australia beneath 1000 AUD, to New Zealand below 1000 NZD, and to Singapore beneath 400 SGD, you will pre-pay a GST tax in advance at the time of placing your order. The rate and value of the tax you will pay will be clearly displayed in your cart when you total the bill. Juno register this payment so your local customs team can see it and allow your order to pass through for delivery. You may still be subject to further import tax on arrival so please check with your local Customs team.

Orders above these values will be subject to import tax when they arrive in the destination country.
