Give Me Your Love (single edit)
You Said
Review: Sylvia Striplin has been heavily sampled by all manner of artists over the years. Here one of her biggest hits 'Give Me Your Love' is presented on a 7" for the first time with 'You Said' on the flip. The a-side is the one with its big funky licks, low slung bass line and celebratory riffs all finished off with the glorious vocal itself. 'You Said' is a more jazzy and low key number, with swirling drums and hip swinging claps taking you later into the night on a more cosy and personal vibe.

Review: Canada's famously vibrant funk scene has given rise to many gems over the years and now one of them is getting a reissue on P-Vine complete with an obi-strip. The Sidewinders' much-coveted album, Flatfoot Hustlin' is a real gem that emanates the spirit of deep-rooted funk. Famously it was recorded in the same studio as Professor Lett and Study's Love Serenade which further details about it have long been unknown and mysterious. That has only added to its allure and appeal amongst the rare groove community but of course, the music itself is the real draw. Featured tracks like 'I Like To Dance' and 'Flat Foot Hustli'' cannot fail to ignite dancefloors, while 'Time For Loving' is a more smooth groove and 'Gift to the Sun' gets nice and heavy making this an essential cop for funk aficionados.

Review: "Smoke" is a soul vocal group from Kansas City though soul music was not so popular at that time. The band had Larry Brown who was also a member of Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes & Melvin Manning who is the younger brother of Marva Whitney. This album was originally released 1976 and P-VINE released this album 24 years ago as LP and that edition has had it's second hand value rise dramatically in the last few years. Presented again and reissued for sweet soul lovers all over the world as a limited edition LP with OBI strip. The outstanding slow ballad "I'm So Lonely" proves this LP is not only rare, but also has perfect quality!

Review: Along with other reissues for The Ultimates, The Topics and Ricardo Marrero, P-VINE has been steadily reissuing the hard-to-find funk and soul gems on the short-lived 70s label TSG, and this latest reissue for Spice's 1976 record Let There Be Spice is of no exception and is packed with seasoned heat. It's a record that complements and blurs the lines of soul, funk and disco, and was once so rare that not even the band knew of its existence. Only in recent times have we been able to put together a picture of a group growing up in The Bronx with the burning desire to perform and light up the stage.

Review: Sylvia Striplin is NY based Ajazz, soul, and R&B singer who is also well known as a member of Ladies of the Eighties which is led byARoy Ayers.
