Review: Batrachian is a sister label to Ritual Poison and this time out it is MOY who is given control. His debut album on Altered Sense got plenty of people talking and there have also been EPs for AC Records and Exalt. He moves freely between tempos and styles and always layers in his own sets of melody. 'Nautilus' is a super rolling breakbeat with burrowing bass and melodies that make it feel tastefully poignant. Electro is the order of the day on the cyborg-infected 'World Grid,' then retro-future video game tech defines 'Vector Space' and 'Cyberweapon' is an all-out interplanetary jungle assault.
Review: We're pretty sure all the new school deep house heads will be excited about this new one here by Harrison BDP for London's Breaks 'N' Pieces, following up great ones by DJ Crisp and Stones Taro. It's titled Rhythm Is Key and features the splintered rhythms of the emotive opening cut 'Shuto Expressway', then 'Anti-Lag' follows in suit but taking a much darker turn down a left hand path. Over on the flip, we have some very UK flava on the "groovy" steppa that is the title track and ending with awesome nice 303 acid squelch on the hypnotising dub techno cut 'Bad Habits'.
