The flurry of releases emanating from Planet Mu HQ in the label's 20th anniversary year continues apace with the arrival of a new record from veteran West Country tape mangler Ekoplekz. The two albums Nick Edwards issued through Planet Mu last year represented some of his most concentrated work as Ekoplekz, but he seems in playful mood on this Entropik 12" which features a pair of ten minutes-plus productions that pay their dues to Joey Beltram and "a certain late-eighties psychedelic drone-rock group" respectively. Due to their stated lengths, the soundclips don't really do this record justice but you should get an idea of the enveloping sound Edwards has achieved. "Entropy Flash" is quite beautiful!
