Grassroots: United Over Ukraine CD

Given the success of Ukrainian producers in recent years, it was inevitable that someone would put together a compilation celebrating the country's electronic music scene. Grassroots Ukraine has a much more noble purpose, though; proceeds from sales of the collection are going to the Maidan Family Fund, a charity supporting families affected by the recent violent clashes that destabilised the country. Musically, there's much to enjoy, from the melancholic ambience of Etap Kyle and deep dub techno of Subforms, to the deluxe organic deep house of Vakula and spooky, bleep-heavy techno of Stanislav Tolkachev. There's also an excellent second disc boasting tracks from supportive international artists, including techno stalwarts Perc.
