Twisted Ladder vinyl

Portland-based "sound artist" Best Available Technology has notched up numerous album releases over the last four years, including acclaimed cassette outings on Opal Tapes, Astro:Dynamics and his own Working Nights. Here he releases a rare vinyl EP, serving up four tracks of experimental house and techno. Naturally, there's much to enjoy, from the strange shuffle of the warped electric piano riffs and metronomic kick-drums of "The Astrarium", and the drone style hypnotic textures of closer "Post Pressure", to the ultra-deep house/minimal techno fusion of skewed opener "Twisted Ladder". The EP's other excursion, the dark and claustrophobic, experimental techno outing "Robert Damiens", is similarly potent.
