Review: Well Rounded Records revealed their intentions to cease operating as a standard record label at the end of the year for wholly admirable reasons, and they'll truly be missed for anyone with a real interest in current strains of bass music. Since their 2009 inception, Well Rounded has steered clear of the tepid, zeitgeist chasing end of the bass music spectrum and remained true to the rugged and rude hardcore continuum. This two track 12" from Nottingham veteran Geiom is a case in point. "2 4 6" is a bastard melding of UK Funky rhythmics and nascent Detroit electro augmented by some rude vocal work from Terrible Shock. It's blessed by a remix from the Finnish school of excellence too with a spinal tapped Scandinavian carnival refix from the man like Desto.

Review: On the Interplanetary EP, Littlefoot skilfully combines seemingly disparate elements of rave, garage, funky and house on this dope four tracker for the Well Rounded imprint. "Tuesday Club" sits somewhere between Roska and DJ Mujava, with some classic chord stabs thrown in for good measure. Sharing the A Side is DJ Dom's remix of "Sell My Soul", probably the 12"s most euphoric moment, with more rave chords, this time supplemented by a clipped female vocal some delicious low frequencies. Flip over for two (relaitively) sedate james, namely the early morning shuffle of "Great Dark Spot" and oven warm Detroitisms of "Planet October".

Review: Fresh the success of his debut release for 2nd Drop, rising star South London Ordnance returns on Well Rounded for another pair of hybrids ready for the floor. "Trojan" starts off with a charming salvo of piano chords before dropping into a churning bassline which adds some UKG flex to its deeper vibes. "Pacific" meanwhile is an expert piece of bowel loosening darkroom techno with a Chicago house interlude that we can imagine going off in the confines of Plastic People as much as it could on a sunshine drenched boat party. Review: Infrasonics label boss Spatial takes a trip beyond his own label for this new three track release on Well Rounded, dropping an absolutely mighty tune in the shape of crisp and dry 2-step tech monster "Bring Me". Alongside the choppy thrills of that opener, "Discoborg" boasts a demented set of disjointed stabs over an equally airless beat, while the rooted-noted techno of "You Workin'" slowly builds into a gloriously far out and head-expanding delight.
