Review: On September 1, 1978, the musical trio Codona graced the stage in Willisau, Switzerland, just before their eponymous debut on ECM. This Swiss FM broadcast immortalised their performance, featuring Collin Walcott on sitar, Don Cherry on trumpet, and Nana Vasconcelos on percussion. Together, they spun a mesmerising tapestry of sound. The opening piece, 'New Light,' spans 16 minutes and evokes pure joy with its enchanting melodies and rhythmic intricacies. Codona's magical encounter showcases the seamless interplay of three masterful musicians and this record captures a moment of musical transcendence that continues to resonate to this day.

Review: Legendary jazz man and truly free spirited musical maestro Don Cherry joined up with Swiss pianist and composer George Gruntz and his group in Tunisia and Germany in May and September 1969 to record this. It brings together two powerhouses with North-African flavoured deep jazz results featuring piano, cornet, flute and celeste mixed up with various different reeds players as well as a selection of traditional instruments such as the bendir, ney, bagpipes, tabla and darbouka. It all adds up to a mesmerising and trance inducing ritual of jazz magic.

Review: In 1980, Weather Report's lineup featured jazz legends Wayne Shorter on tenor and soprano sax, Joe Zawinul on keyboards, bassist Jaco Pastorius, drums from Peter Erskine and Bobby Thomas Jr. on percussion, and that was often hailed as the band's finest ensemble. The powerhouse group delivered the intensity of a big band while blending intricate musicianship with electrifying energy and their Night Passage tour, famous for its dynamic visuals with lasers and projections, was the band at their best. The Atlanta Fox Theater show captures remarkable performances of Zawinul's 'Madagascar' and 'Fast City', Pastorius' 'Three Views of a Secret' and Shorter's 'Port of Entry.'
