Review: Sometimes all you need are "Two Twelve Tens". Obviously a mixer would be necessary to complete the party set but we're going to assume Hyperkinetic has already got one of them. They've already got the tunes, clearly... Four gigantic slabs of classic old school energy laced with classic samples galore, this one is a bulging bag of pure rave energy that would appeal to ravers aged both 50 and 15. Highlights include the RAF pitched up vocal and epic pianos of "We've Got To Rave Together" and the sweet positivity of "Hold It Together". Come together.

Review: Sub Code believes we're living through a "second golden era of jungle" and given the volume and quality of revivalist mid-90s style records we've heard over the last 18 months, it's hard to disagree. This four-tracker from Essex-based Juice-E is further fuel for those who like their D&B to sound like killer cuts from the formative years of jungle culture. Our favourites include opener "All Massive", a sweaty peak-time beast that peppers a booming bassline and bustling Amen breaks with "Circles" style melodies, the thrusting sub-bass and fizzing melodies of "Mellow Days" and the insanely sub-heavy brilliance of "Nostalgia". That said the whole EP is rather good, so don't sleep!

Review: It's raining breaks! A hailstorm of jungle and drum n' bass has hit our shelves, and Lavery's 'War Dubs', the first vinyl-only release to make Sub Code's catalogue in 2022, is one of many of its new wax droplets to settle onto our turntables. Originally strictly limited to a small run of purple wax bits, a small number of the records have hit our rolling stocks. Dub sirens morph into lasershot zaps as ragga vocal samples and ghost wails cut across track 1, while tracks 2 and 3 nail scratchy samples and rapidly-repitched breaks raucousness.
