Review: Having launched earlier in the year via a tasty EP from scene stalwart XXXY, the Sour Edits crew has asked another experienced producer to deliver Volume Two. It marks the Astropical regular's first release of 2018 and contains a trio of notable cuts. Arguably the one for peak-time plays is A-side "Jazz With Some House Elements", a percussive affair that pits layered, almost tribal house drums against a booming bassline and surprisingly sun-kissed flute, guitar and electric piano motifs seemingly lifted from an old jazz record. That said, some may prefer the heavily chopped, DJ Sneak style disco-house pump of "The World's First Ambient Banger" or the fluttering Latin horns and bustling house beats of closer "Marianna Theme".
