Review: Utterly brain-assaulting techno onslaughtery from the collaborative duo that is Alexander Johansson and Mattias Fridell (Lomsk), debuting this new EP for Blueprint. As ever nailing their conscious decision to make 'playful and mischevious' techno, this one finds sadistic pride in pummelling our ears with womp and repetition, for its own sake. The double-clapping 'Klot' in particular reigns supreme over this EP for its Birmingham-style chord stabs, while the overall pleasing mix of 'Koner' rounds things off on a cuspy, raspy, wally note.

Review: Swedish producers Alexander Johansson & Mattias Fridell get back to the drafting board - Blueprint Records - for a third release, following their 2023 EP 'Geometriska Strukturer' and the 'Marvatten' EP the year before. Active collaborators since the early 2000s, the pair have steadily contributed their precision-honed techno to labels such as Symbolism, Audio Assault, ARMS, XXX Records and H. Productions, alongside their own imprint, Lomsk, since 2022. Their latest 'Bentik Zone' comprises three hot, mode-choked techno tesla coils, themed after the topical Benthic zone: the lowest level of a body of water such as an ocean, lake or stream, where deep-sea crustacean dwellers known as benthos lurk.

Review: Lomsk's Alexander Johansson and Mattias Fridell made their Blueprint Records debut at the start of last year with their 'Geometriska Strukturer' EP; now they're back with a new four-tracker, 'Marvatten', which continues to prove their talents to the tune of gritty, submersible, viscous techno. The Swedish duo here proffer myriad toothy new ones, best among which are the sonar-blooping 'Sejnfall' and the low-whistling, hindewhu-reminiscent 'Styrfart'.
