Review: The Funk Monkeys have already given a good account of themselves over the past year or so with "Don't You Love It" (Dirty Fabric), "The Funk Monkeys" (611), "Call Of The Wild" (Kontrast) and a remix of Harrison Crump and Dajae's "Never" (Subliminal). Funk Monkeys are producing a no-nonsense funky, jacking' electronic sound that's fast gaining support from a wide range of DJs. The duo comprise of hard working international DJ and Dirty Fabric Records head honcho DJ Paul Anthony together with Mike Gillenwater, otherwise known as half of reputed High Caliber (with Bryan Jones). "Deepish, acidic funky grooves" - Jim Ryan Cool, "Very cool- like "In & Out" - Tom Stephan, "Like "In & Out" and I'll try this out Sat in Italy, good pumping house." - Nico de Ceglia, "Strong jacking house grooves, both track are worth spinning and earmarking thanks to their bouncy Chicago flava. 8/10" - Lewis Dene, "Strongest track is "In & Out". More from the commercial end of electro influenced house but it still rocks hard and has a strangely deviant vocal and bassline which suits me just fine. It's quirky, minimal, commercial and works for me. In my box" - DJ Paulette.
