Review: This debut album from electro house trio Feed Me is an aggressive beast. Surging with testosterone, it bristles with latent anger and shouty, in-your face attitude. Critically, though, it's also packed with the sort of punishing dancefloor gear that will have teenagers in souped-up Vauxhalls frothing at the mouth. While rooted primarily in the pumping end of big room electro house (see electro-rock wig-out "Muscle Rollers"), there are a number of musical diversions U not least wobbly dubstep ("Blood Red"), cheeky pop-step ("Cloudburn") and 80s-influenced fidget ("Grand Theft Ecstasy", which sounds like Daft Punk in a blender).
Review: If this heavy-hitting collection of previously unreleased cuts was meant as a kind of Ed Banger relaunch, it more than achieves its stated aim. Curated and mixed together by label bosses Busy P and DJ Mehdi, Let The Children Techno! is a joyous romp through rainbow-coloured dancefloor pastures. From start to finish, it exudes a smiley confidence that's truly infectious. With established names queuing up to offer bold, brash and occasionally brilliant contributions, it's packed with quality gear. From the disco-flecked dubstep-pop of Skream's "Boat Party" and hip-hop bounce of Busy P's "Procrastinator" to the shimmering beauty of Flying Lotus, bowel-bothering thump of Riton and tongue-in-cheek electro-funk of Breakbot, it oozes fun from start to finish.
Review: The hugely popular 90s UK House imprint Hooj continue their gradual Kate Moross branded renaissance with some rowdy dancefloor bizniz from Belgian "electro wonk" producer Dopefish. "The Wasp" updates Joey Beltram's rave classic "Mentasm" for a contemporary audience, so it's over the top bassy with lots of side chaining and definitely done with a sense of humour. NMBRS artist Emvee flips the track for a tougher post funky meets Bashment that will probably work on the Hot Wuk dancefloor. Check "Bloodcomb Jelly" on the B Side too for some glitched out future squelch funk a la Siriusmo
