Review: Reissued for the first time via Atlantic Records comes the official soundtrack to Twilight: New Moon, the second instalment in the Twilight film franchise, which is in turn based on the novel of the same name. With the OST component of the score again handled by Alexandre Desplat, and its curated remainder selected by music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas, New Moon is a compelling fusion of classical filmic orchestral music and brooding emo indie rock: the perfect combo to nail the affective headspace of both Edward and Jacob campers.

Review: It is at this point a given that every Joe Hisiashi / Studio Ghibli soundtrack should land on our doorsteps. Hayao Miyazaki's latest film, The Boy And The Heron, is the very latest anime fantasy film to be released through the esteemed film franchise; described as a 'big, fantastical film', it follows a boy named Mahito Maki who moves to the countryside after his mother's death, discovers an abandoned tower near his new home, and enters a fantastical world with a talking grey heron. Whereas many of Hisiashi's other soundtracks deal in wide variegations of whimsy and heart-warmth, The Boy And The Heron skews purely to the latter, working in the bare but endlessly affecting mode of solo piano, and evoking the lonely but ultimately revelatory internal process that occurs during grief. Befitting of Miyazaki's controversial decision for the film not to pander to audiences or spell out meanings, so too does Hisiashi's contribution find reams of expression in a spare, single instrument.

Review: Something's Up! is a masterful compilation that features the eclectic brilliance of John Barry's film scores. Curated by Saint Etienne's Bob Stanley, this collection highlights Barry's transition from a British arranger to a pop icon, renowned for defining the sound of the Cold War spy movie era. Focusing on music from 1964 to 1967, this album features Barry's iconic work on James Bond classics like Goldfinger, Thunderball, and You Only Live Twice, cementing his influence on the spy genre. Beyond Bond, Barry's contributions to films such as The Ipcress File and The Quiller Memorandum exemplify his ability to blend tension with sophistication. The collection also includes less-celebrated but notable scores like those for King Rat, The Chase and Seance on a Wet Afternoon, reflecting Barry's diverse range and ability to craft memorable themes beyond the mainstream. Barry's music, characterised by its lush orchestration and emotive power, extended its reach from the silver screen to the vinyl, resonating with listeners even if they hadn't seen the films - and his exceptional talent and enduring legacy in film music is on full display here,

Review: In January, it was revealed that Thom Yorke composed the original score for Daniele Luchetti's film, Confidenza, which is based on Domenico Starnone's novel. XL Recordings now has that soundtrack on vinyl and it follows Yorke's acclaimed score for Luca Guadagnino's 2018 Suspiria remake, Suspirium, which earned a GRAMMY nomination. Yorke collaborates with producer Sam Petts-Davies again here , as well as the London Contemporary Orchestra and a jazz ensemble, including Robert Stillman and Tom Skinner. It is a grand and emotional work from the cult Radiohead legend.

Serena E Lomunno
Il Ricordo Di Serena
Review: Four Flies presents a gem for vinyl collectors with the 7" release of Riz Ortolani's soundtrack highlights from Confessione di un commissario di polizia al procuratore della Repubblica. Side-1's 'Serena e Lomunno' showcases an exceptional quartet's jazzy spell, weaving bass, electric guitar, drums, and piano into a standout groove. On Side-2, Il ricordo di Serena continues the magic with a trio, maintaining the rhythmic essence while sacrificing none of the brilliance. The interplay of bass and drums is the backbone, adorned by electric guitar and piano's refined phrasings. The result? Irresistible jazz-funk breaks, ripe for sampling. A must-have addition to Four Flies' series of 45s celebrating Italy's golden age soundtracks and library productions, this release is essential for any serious Italian sound enthusiast's collection.

Review: Dune: Part Two has been met by rave reviews form both critics and cinema goers and there is no doubt that yet another epic soundtrack from Hans Zimmer has helped contribute to that acclaim. His work is another masterpiece that perfectly complements the epic saga's grandeur. Building upon the thematic motifs established in the first installment, Zimmer's score transports listeners to the vast, mystical world of Arrakis. With its sweeping orchestral arrangements and haunting electronic textures, the music evokes a sense of awe and intrigue and Zimmer's mastery of cinematic storytelling shines through every note as he captures the emotional depth and complexity of Frank Herbert's universe. From the thunderous percussion of battle sequences to the haunting melodies of desert landscapes, this is a sci-fi soundtrack essential.

Review: Habibi Funk cannot contain their excitement in sharing a second collection of deep grooves and unreleased songs from Algeria's Ahmed Malek soundtrack works. Ahmed Malek - who has often been compared to Ennio Morricone - recorded the majority of these songs in the 1970s and early 1980s, during which time his own native Algeria was in its film heyday. Malek became known for his combination of traditional music with jazz, psych-rock, and R&B, and yet did not find international recognition beyond his hometown; Habibi Funk recount the mission of tracking down Malek's sister to unearth a box full of master tapes, which formed the foundation of this miraculous new release salvage. As Ahmed says, "I didn't choose music, music chose me": it shows here.

Review: .You have to admire Basil Kirchin's attitude. At the age of 13, he joined his father's Big Band orchestra,, debuting at Tottenham Court Road's Paramount venue, and would spend up to eight hours a day practicing music during the London Blitz. Soon after the war ended, he went off to tour with a number of famous names, including Teddy Foster and Ted Heath, before he rejoined his old man's outfit for another stint. The arrival of rock & roll in the late-1950s catalysed a decision to leave that group again, telling his parent "you're a prisoner of rhythm, and I was fed up playing other people's music." At this point, Kirchin headed for India, spending five months in the Ramakrishna Temple trying to figure out what life was about, and if his world view had any substance beyond "the ramblings of a pot-head." This was before other artists were doing that kind of thing. A true visionary who would go on to play a pivotal role in the British jazz, avant garde, free jazz and experimental scenes, now you know all that is there anyway you're not buying this?

Review: Earnest, atmospheric, romantic-gothic guitar pieces from Alain Goraguer, whose Rare Soundtracks & Lost Tapes hears a collection never heard before on vinyl. Goraguer is best known as a collaborator and ghostwriter of Serge Gainsbourg, as well as the scoring composer for the surrealist sci-fi animation film Fantastic Planet. At around the same time of the making of these two indelible compositions, Goraguer also wrote two similar, but less publicly-oriented scores, both of which appear on this record in a back-to-back fashion. An array of breathy flutes, eerie backing synth counterpoints, and shaky percussions all combine to cloud the glasses on this beautifully bittersweet album-length hypnosis.

Review: If you've not seem the movie Oppenheimer chances are you've had your head buried deep in the sand for the past year or so. The multi-Academy Award-winning scientific epic charts the development of the first nuclear bomb and subsequent realisation, on the part of the man who cracked the formula, that such terrifying power should never have been brought into our world. Directed by Christopher Nolan, outspoken critics of the master filmmaker may by now be wondering if he'll ever make another movie with a linear storyline - so much of his output is anything but these days. However, that slightly surreal, disjointed, era-jumping approach to storytelling necessitates a soundtrack that combines stunning classical and more avant-garde experimentations. Which Ludwig Goransson delivered with spectacular effect. Now those tones are yours to own.

Review: The Hazbin Hotel soundtrack is a vibrant and eclectic collection where the series' bold and unique style is to put to vinyl. The opening track, 'Happy Day In Hell,' is a standout, blending catchy melodies with a memorable vocal performance from Erika Henningsen. It's a lively introduction that sets the tone for the show. 'Hell Is Forever' and 'Whatever It Takes' add depth to the world of Hazbin, with the former offering a fun, exposition-filled romp and the latter delivering a more heartfelt moment between Vaggie and Carmilla. Both tracks highlight the series' ability to balance humor and emotion. 'Poison' is a pop-infused gem with a catchy beat and a daring, narrative-driven context that adds a layer of complexity to Angel Dust's character. Meanwhile, 'Loser, Baby' is the crowning achievement, featuring Keith David's soulful vocals in a satisfying and narratively sweet conclusion to the first batch of episodes. Overall, the Hazbin Hotel soundtrack on red vinyl is a delightful mix of catchy tunes and character-driven moments, offering fans a unique listening experience that captures the show. It's an exciting start, with plenty of potential for even more musical magic to come.

Review: You don't need to have seen the summer blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine to know exactly what it's like. Alarm bells began ringing years ago at Marvel over the decline of interest around a universe which, in cinematic terms at least, seems to have no limits or qualms about churning out product, no matter the quality. Things have got worse since, albeit with a few exceptions - like the Deadpool franchise. The wisecracking anti-hero's flicks go for a more adult jugular than many comic book adaptations, and therefore the character makes an ideal partner for the X-Men's blade-fingered menace, Wolverine. Together, they make an odd couple that were never going to be in a straight-up superhero talkie. Instead, it's tangible tongue-in-cheek at times, lighting paced, and delightfully self-aware stuff that needs a soundtrack running between over-cooked chart emo to classic croonerville, 1980s pop rock to rousing r&b. Here you go then.

Review: When you look back at the first PlayStation several landmark releases spring to mind - Resident Evil, Tekken 2, Crash Bandicoot - the list could go on much longer and should definitely include Wipeout and Wipeout 2097. Both were renowned for combining high pace, futuristic visuals with contemporary electronic club music from some of the biggest producers and acts at the time. Less remembered, in Europe at least, is the Ape Escape series, an intense party-platform title which arguably has the greatest dance music game score of all time. Comprising six tracks from that saga, this compilation of Soichi Terada's soundtracks emphasises that bold point. Opening on the crisp, punchy techno drive of 'Specters Factory', we find ourselves in suitably spooky jungle ('Haunted House'), rumbling dnb ('Spectors Castle') and roughneck hardcore bass ('Coasters'), among other made up genres. Sure! This special edition also introduces tracks from 2Pac, Lord G, and 2Pac featuring Stretch, Treach, and Riddler, which will only enhance its legendary status.

Review: The High School Musical 2 soundtrack elevates the teen pop genre with its slick production aimed squarely at radio appeal. Transitioning from the more organic feel of its predecessor, this album embraces a polished sound that grows on you with repeated listens. Zac Efron takes the vocal reins as Troy, bringing a distinctively different but commendable sound compared to the first film. Standout tracks include the fun and catchy group numbers 'What Time Is It?' and 'All for One,' alongside the infectious Chad/Ryan duet 'I Don't Dance,' which blends hip-hop with jazzy swing. Another highlight is 'Bet on It,' a glossy boy band-style anthem that perfectly captures Troy's turmoil. The ballads, especially 'You Are the Music in Me,' offer sweet harmonies without being overly sappy, providing a nice contrast to the upbeat numbers. Overall, this soundtrack is a vibrant collection that will delight fans and get them singing along, presented beautifully on blue vinyl for collectors.

Review: John Williams' iconic soundtrack for Indiana Jones & The Temple Of Doom remains a classic amongst soundtrack fans as it captures the adventurous spirit of the film in every note. With thrilling orchestrations and memorable motifs, Williams once again proves his mastery in cinematic composition from the exhilarating 'The Temple Of Doom' theme to the haunting 'Slave Children's Crusade,' each track transports you in an instant to the heart of the action-packed adventure. The score's ability to evoke a sense of danger, excitement, and wonder is unparalleled and that makes this a must-have for fans of film music and Indiana Jones aficionados alike.

Review: The finale of the original trilogy had it all, sewers, blimps, mysterious invisible CGI bridges, you name it! What it also had was an incredible soundtrack, now reissued here to commemorate its 35th anniversary. Although Temple of Doom was another box office hit, critical reactions were heavily mixed and it obviously affected director Steven Spielberg enough that he spent a couple extra years on completing the Indiana Jones trilogy. John Williams of course returns with a lot of new themes - there are a couple of artifact themes this time around, both evoking a strong religious feeling, without any of the ominous feeling that some of the other movies' soundtrack have. The first is the primary Grail theme, which appears in the travel cue portion of 'X Marks the Spot.' Most of its appearances were absent on the original album, but restored here. In the case of Indiana Jones, the music is almost as important as the movies - and the Last Crusade was one of the emost original and in depth soundtracks in the series.

Review: A selection of fifteen pieces from the soundtrack of the cult anime Dragon Ball Z, on a limited 2xLP edition, fully licensed, including the main opening track 'CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA'. This soundtrack accompanies the anime's key moment in which Dragon Ball Z resumes five years after Son Goku's wedding. Radditz, a mysterious warrior, arrives on Earth to find Goku, who learns that he comes from a planet of warriors from a planet of warriors, of which only four remain. The plot is based on a succession of increasingly strong opponents to be fought, but there's often a quest or travel motif that adds interest beyond the duels. All this, and more, is bolstered by this electrifying soundtrack edition.

Review: You had us at hello. Or at least you had us at weird French sounds from the 1970s, a decade that played a pivotal role in modernising musical processes, techniques and instruments, among other things. With names like Gilbert Becaud & Christian Gaubert, Jean Schwarz, Jacky Chalard & Gilbert Deaez and Alain Goraguer, those more in tune with this era in Gallic sound culture will know this is going to be a varied ride. Hence we open on 'The Organization', a piece that nods to the classical heritage of screen scores and captures the laidback attitude of the late-1960s perfectly, before moving through a wealth of styles, including proto-New Wave, post-punk, Kraut and meditative moods. For want of a better description. Nothing you won't have encountered before, but certainly pushing in new directions at the time.

Review: Rite Here Rite Now, directed by GHOST's Tobias Forge and Alex Ross Perry, is an ambitious blend of live concert footage and narrative storytelling, picking up the threads of the band's Chapters series. This feature-length film captures GHOST's electrifying performances from their sold-out shows at Los Angeles's Kia Forum, coupled with a fictional narrative that delves deep into the band's mythos. The film promises a unique cinematic experience that melds the raw energy of live music with engaging plot elements, designed to both entertain and engage GHOST's fans into a deeper understanding of the band's artistic vision. This soundtrack to the film sets a new standard in the rock cinema genre, aiming to engage not just GHOST's dedicated followers but also lovers of innovative film-making and rock spectacle.

Review: Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, known for their remarkable work with Nine Inch Nails and film scores like The Social Network, deliver a techno-charged soundtrack for Luca Guadagnino's tennis-themed love triangle drama Challengers. The score is a pulsating mix of electroclash, synth-pop, and driving techno, expertly weaving traditional instruments with electronic beats. Reznor and Ross take Guadagnino's vision to heart, crafting a soundtrack that not only drives the narrative but also challenges expectations with its bold, rhythmic energy. Tracks like 'Compress/Repress', co-written with Guadagnino and featuring Reznor's vocals, showcase their ability to blend artistic expression with the film's themes of control and power. Overall, this is a excellent soundtrack that works well to support the visual or just listening to it without having seen the movie.

Review: The Saltburn soundtrack, released on red vinyl, is a great collection of tracks that capture the dark, humorous essence of Emerald Fennell's 2023 black comedy. This eclectic mix of songs enhances the film's twisted narrative. Side-1 opens with Bloc Party's 'This Modern Love,' a nod to the film's exploration of complicated relationships. Ladytron's 'Destroy Everything You Touch' and Cold War Kids' 'Hang Me Up To Dry' continue this theme of emotional turmoil. The infectious energy of Mason vs Princess Superstar's 'Perfect (Exceeder)' adds a pulse to the story's underlying tension. Side-2 is highlighted by Sophie Ellis-Bextor's 'Murder on the Dancefloor,' a playful yet sinister track that resonates with the film's dark humor. MGMT's 'Time To Pretend' and The Killers' iconic 'Mr Brightside' reflect the characters' hedonistic pursuits. The inclusion of the twisted 'Have a Cheeky Christmas' by The Cheeky Girls adds a bizarre, yet fitting, touch to this unusual collection. Encapsulates the film's edgy and eccentric atmosphere in the most ideal way.

Review: It's the late 1950s and modernism reigns. The fires of World War II have been extinguished, leaving behind scorched earth, half-ruined cities, and a firm focus on looking ahead to a better world. How little they knew. From this Cold War setting, wherein the lines between good and bad appear deceptively clear, a new form of jazz begins to emerge. Smooth, cool, and unarguably inviting, Miles Davis was among the greatest proponents of the 'modal' movement - whereby long, linear melodic movements were favoured over the nervous energy and tension of what had come before. The legendary trumpeter, bandleader and composer gave us a lot of landmark sounds, and his score to the Louis Malle film, Ascenseur Pour L'echafaud, isn't one of the best known. Nevertheless, it defines everything that was great and timeless about the iconic brass man.

Review: John Williams' Home Alone soundtrack is a heartwarming classic that perfectly complements the holiday season. Known for his work on Star Wars, E.T.and Harry Potter, Williams brings the same orchestral magic to this beloved Christmas film. The score includes memorable tracks like 'Somewhere in My Memory,' a recurring theme throughout the film, and 'Star of Bethlehem,' which captures the festive spirit with choral and orchestral elegance. The standout track, 'Setting the Trap,' diverges from Williams' usual orchestral sound, incorporating electronics and percussion to enhance Kevin's creative showdown with the burglars. Alongside traditional Christmas carols like 'O Holy Night' and 'Carol of the Bells,' the soundtrack blends nostalgia with whimsy. Though the album repeats familiar motifs, its charm makes it a refreshing alternative to typical holiday music. The Home Alone soundtrack is available in a limited edition red and gold vinyl 2xLP, making it an essential for any festive playlist. Whether it's playing while decorating the tree or enjoying Christmas cookies, this release brings the holiday spirit alive.

Review: Four Flies has unearthed a long-lost gem: Gianfranco Reverberi's daring soundtrack to Rivelazioni, a notorious 1973 film by director Renato Polselli. Reverberi, known for producing legends like Lucio Dalla and Gino Paoli, initially distanced himself from the film's controversial themes by releasing the music under a pseudonym. Yet, Rivelazioni's score, with its driving rhythms and experimental edge, shines as a bold, innovative creation. The soundtrack features an impressive use of electronic instruments, including drum machines and spacey synths, alongside psychedelic flutes, piano and jazzy improvision. 'Psicolimite', originally released under the name Sharon Chatam, has become a coveted rarity, sparking excitement around the full soundtrack's reissue. Recovered from original 1-inch, 16-track tapes, the score has been remastered for both vinyl and digital formats. With a raw, relentless rhythm section and dark, atmospheric vibes, this soundtrack is an essential find for fans of Italian genre cinema and daring experimental music. Available now as a double LP with stunning artwork, Rivelazioni finally gets its well-deserved moment in the spotlight.

Review: Almost 15 years after her tragic death and admission to the ill-fated '27 club', it's impossible not to tear up when thinking about Amy Winehouse. The untimely loss of such an incredible talent is one thing, gradually understanding that nobody caught and held such a vulnerable person in their time of need is what really hits the hardest. Back to Black, Sam Taylor-Johnson's biographical drama about the UK singer-songwriter and musician's rise to stardom, and the fallout, was never going to be an easy watch, then. As if we needed any more proof, the soundtrack really emphasises just how timeless Winehouse was as an artist. Highlights from her own incredible output are here - 'What Is It About Men', 'Stronger Than Me', 'Valerie', '(There Is) No Greater Love', the list could go on - as are some of the most evocative and captivating soul, blues and r&b tracks of the 20th Century. And there's nothing to separate these from each other, sonically, lyrically, or emotionally. We weren't worthy, and maybe never will be

Review: This four-vinyl box set features music from the original The Last of Us and The Last of Us Volume 2 albums, including the renowned main theme. Argentinian composer and two-time Academy Awards-winner Gustavo Santaolalla crafted the emotionally resonant score, characterised by intimate, guitar-driven sounds. The iconic main theme stands as one of the most recognisable melodies in video game soundtracks that famously added depth to the immersive storytelling. Pressed on coloured slabs of wax, it boasts exclusive cover art by Ashraf Omar and two lithographs - one by Omar and the other showcasing original game sketch art - all housed in a meticulously crafted outer slipcase.

Review: To mark the 50th anniversary of the iconic British gangster film Get Carter (actually released in 1971) which starred Michael Caine and was directed by Mike Hodges, Beatball South Korea presented the soundtrack that propelled jazz musician Roy Budd into film music stardom. This expanded edition draws from the original Japanese and British OST releases but also offers a bonus disc with outtakes and dialogue snippets. Part of Beatball's Roy Budd Classic Soundtrack Scores series, this one offers up Budd's jazzy and groovy signature style which very much defined the essence of the film's scenes along with key dialogue. It's a great nod to Budd's genius as well as a still cool standalone listen.

Review: Ennio Morricone's La Cosa Buffa is a brilliant 1972 soundtrack that beautifully captures the emotional breadth of Aldo Lado's sentimental drama. The score, celebrated for its lush orchestration and hypnotic themes, features an array of string and harpsichord variations, with Edda Dell'Orso's haunting, wordless vocals enhancing the romantic atmosphere. The album, reissued on vibrant yellow vinyl to mark its 50th anniversary, showcs Morricone's exceptional ability to blend dreamy and groovy elements, making it accessible yet deeply evocative. Remastered by Claudio Fuiano, this edition includes a faithful reproduction of the original film poster, adding to its collectible appeal. Notably, the score diverges from Morricone's more intense giallo work, presenting a more melodious and dramatic soundscape. The catchy 'Ballabile N.1' and 'N.2' tracks offer a playful nod to 60s beat music, further enriching the album's varied texture. La Cosa Buffa is a signature example to Morricone's movie magic helping him remain as influential and beloved as ever.

Review: After numerous patches, Cyberpunk 2077 has come an astoundingly long way since Keanu Reeves himself announced it at the now-defunct E3 expo. Phantom Liberty is an expansion on the original game set in Dogtown, the ruins of an abandoned luxury development project that was forced to be scrapped when old military complexes, bunkers and labs were uncovered by construction. A tale of espionage and political intrigue ensues, scored by P.T. Adamczyk and Jacek Paciorkowski once again following the duo's Game Award-nominated original score. The highlight is, of course, 'Phantom Liberty', the title and credits track that features Polish X Factor winner and multi-diamond recording artist Dawid Podsiadlo, his voice booming in front of the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. Pressed on heavyweight 180gm vinyl and includes a double-sided insert with key art of Songbird for fans of the series to enjoy.

Review: Seminal; containing or contributing to the seeds of later development: creative, original. Or at least that's one definition of a word that rarely feels more appropriate than when used in conjunction with Sex Pistols. Quite where we're supposed to begin writing about The Filth & The Fury is anyone's guess. A retrospective compilation encapsulating some of the punk pioneers' most cherished moments, alongside a slew of material that many less-informed fans may have previously been unaware of, let's start by simply saying 'it bangs'. Understatement of the century, despite their back catalogue of just one LP, Sex Pistols actually had an extraordinary output in terms of volume in the run up to debut (and sole) album, Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols. This is a chance to get more closely acquainted, and we compel you to seize it and hold on tight.

Review: Martin Scorsese's Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues series may not be the Academy Award-winning director's most famous contribution to popular culture, but the PBS documentary film saga, in which the legendary director takes us on a journey through the development of a sound he holds dear to his heart, is well worth looking for. Featuring luminaries such as John Lee Hooker, Lightnin' Hopkins, Muddy Waters, and more, each episode welcomes a different filmmaker, allowing them to refocus on artists they love. For this album spin-off, we centre attention on the mighty Stevie Ray Vaughan, one of the most influential of all blues musicians who tragically died at the age of 35 in a helicopter crash. Although far younger than many of the greats he's often listed alongside, his exceptional abilities on the guitar, and often unique sonics, set him apart from almost anyone else, alive or dead. Listen to what we mean here.

Review: Henry Mancini's iconic score for The Pink Panther is an amazing example of the power of music to define cinema. Released 60 years ago, the album's unforgettable melodies have become synonymous with the film and its bumbling detective Inspector Clouseau. The catchy 'Pink Panther Theme' alone remains a cultural touchstone, widely recognized and streamed. Mancini's genius infused the score with a whimsical yet sophisticated flair, mirroring the film's comedic tone. The album's Grammy Award-winning success cemented its place in popular culture, earning a well-deserved spot in the Grammy Hall of Fame. The 60th Anniversary Edition celebrates the timeless brilliance of Mancini's Pink Panther score. Pressed on vibrant pink vinyl, it offers a nostalgic reminder of the film's enduring charm and the enduring power of Mancini's musical genius.

Tracks from movies such as Blackmail, Apradh, Junglee, Priya, Bhoot Bungla, and Sholay all make appearances, many of which are names that should be familiar to fans of 'world cinema' - for want of a less lazy label - even if the soundtracks themselves are not. Spanning the later mid-20th Century, everything here was recorded between 1958 and 1984, and as such Bollywood Nuggets can be taken as a window on how tastes and demand changed during that time, while certain totems remained. Featuring artists such as Mohammedd Rafi, Kalyanji & Anandji, P Susheela & SP Balasubrahmanyam, and RD Burman, it's a fantastic overview and a fascinating deep dive.

Review: The upcoming soundtrack for Joker: Folie a Deux has film and music fans on the edge of their seats, with its highly anticipated fusion of drama and musicality. Produced by Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga, and an impressive team including Jason Ruder and Todd Phillips, the album promises to be a vivid and bold departure from traditional film scores. Hildur Gudnadottir, who composed the haunting score for the first Joker film, returns, but this time her music is interwoven with 15 cover songs, transforming the film into a jukebox musical. Drawing from Hollywood's Golden Age, the soundtrack teases the inclusion of songs like Fred Astaire and Judy Garland's 'Easter Parade' and 'Cheek to Cheek,' with the trailer already showcasing Gaga and Phoenix performing 'Get Happy.' These classic tunes are expected to be reinterpreted in ways that are both 'logical and surprising,' according to Gudnadottir herself. The mix of Phoenix and Gaga's vocal performances with the score's dark undertones promises an audacious contrast, offering a new lens through which the psychological descent of both Joker and Harley Quinn can be experienced. Coming on red vinyl, this release is set to blend nostalgia with intensity, making it a defining musical moment for the film.

Review: The Matrix is one of the most iconic films of the late 90s, and it is now a quarter of a century old. To mark the occasion, this 25th Anniversary Edition soundtrack offers a nostalgic trip back to those times with remastered tracks and bonus material. The OST features genre-defining music from artists like Rage Against the Machine, Rob Dougan and Propellerheads, all of which captured the essence of the film's cyberpunk atmosphere. This edition amplifies the experience with improved clarity while preserving the original's gritty, industrial vibe and is a great trip down memory lane for lovers of 90s techno, rock and industrial.

Review: Over the course of his long and successful career, Ennio Morricone composed many dance songs in step with the fashions of the late 60s and early 70s. These were themes not necessarily directly connected with his films' synopses, but which were nonetheless played in disco clubs, on jukeboxes, turntables and on the radio. This collection contains a selection of pieces such as the brilliant main theme from Grand Slam (1967); the shake rock (opening credits) from Dario Argento's classic Four Flies On Grey Velvet (1971) the danceable from the noir film Violent City (1970); the beat version of the opening credits of 'Pioggia Sul Tuo Viso' by the Sorrows, from How I Learned to Love Women (1966); 'Per Vittorio (Bossa)', an elegant bossa nova with flute and percussions from The Success (1963); the tribal shake from I Cantori Moderni, which winks at the dies irae from Garden of Delights (1967); 'Scuola di Ballo al sole', a wild surf piece from the Hawks and the Sparrows (1966); the supreme bossa nova from One Night at Dinner (1969) with the super iconic voice of Edda Dell'orso; the shake music of "'Ostinazione al Limone from What Have you Done to Solange? (1972); and 'Donnabossa' from Full Hearts and Empty Pockets (1964), a delicate bossa nova piece with a prominent harpsichord.

Review: Ennio Morricone's soundtrack for La Donna Della Domenica is yet another masterful display of the great composer's musical prowess. Released in 1975, this score seamlessly blends elements of jazz, funk, and classical music, reflecting the film's noir atmosphere. Morricone's compositions evoke a sense of mystery and suspense, enhancing the on-screen drama, and that is true again here. Tracks like 'La Donna Della Domenica' and 'La Lucertola' showcase his ability to create haunting melodies and intricate arrangements. With its diverse instrumentation and emotive themes, Morricone's score for La Donna Della Domenica remains a captivating listen, underscoring his status as one of cinema's greatest composers.

Review: Not originally envisioned as a musical, Descendants is the American musical fantasy TV film directed by Kenny Ortega, and manifests as the fantasy Disney crossover to end all fantasy Disney crossovers. The series follows the teenage children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella de Vil, respectively, as they each come of age, adjust to life's tribulations - oh, and embark on a quest to steal the Fairy Godmother's wand and free their parents from captivity. It was not until Ortega came to direct the film that the executive decision to add songs came about; now, the likes of Shawn Mendes and Dove Cameron grace a further star-studded cast of celebs and talents on this duly sparkly, modern slice of magnificence on a translucent pink marbled LP.

Review: A decade after John Carpenter's groundbreaking Lost Themes debut, his collaboration with son Cody Carpenter and godson Daniel Davies, the pioneering composer and director has revitalised his career. Lost Themes IV: Noir explores the essence of film noir, infusing Carpenter's signature synth-driven sound with dark, atmospheric motifs. Described as "soundtracks for the movies in your mind," these compositions evoke the mysterious allure of classic noir films. While traditional noir scores relied on orchestral arrangements, Carpenter, Carpenter, and Davies craft their distinctive sound with synths and guitars, capturing the essence of the genre. With this latest installment, they continue to redefine Carpenter's musical legacy, transcending mere homage to create immersive sonic experiences.

Review: While Fritz Lang's Metropolis has enjoyed reams of revisionist soundtracks in the near-century since it was released, Robert Weine's The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari has remained a more cult concern of Weimar-era cinema. Karl Bartos, one of the early members of Kraftwerk, has indulged his passion for the art of this unique period between world wars, when technology and art was changing as rapidly as the world around them. Employing his considerable experience and well-appointed studio to the task of re-soundtracking, Bartos has created this vibrant new score for Weine's film, pressed up here on double vinyl with an accompanying 16-page booklet.

These films introduced us to Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker, Kirsten Dunst as MJ, and formidable villains like the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe) and Doc Ock (Alfred Molina), shaping the blockbuster summers of the past two decades. Who else could score such an important film odyssey than the one and only Danny Elfman?! To celebrate the 20th anniversary, the soundtrack to Spider-Man 2 arrives on vinyl. The score's legendary themes continue to inspire. Witnessing Elfman perform these themes live at Coachella was an unforgettable experience, with a live orchestra captivating the audience. Enjoy one of the most important soundtracks in the superhero genre now on beautiful vinyl.

Review: Four Flies has released an extraordinary vinyl edition of Mario Migliardi's soundtrack for Matalo!, a unique score that breaks all the conventions of the Spaghetti Western genre. This 1970 film by Milanese director Cesare Canevari features a dark, atmospheric take on the traditional Western, with minimal dialogue and visually experimental techniques that elevate the music to the forefront. Migliardi, a versatile composer, conductor, and Hammond organist, blends psych-rock, electronic textures, and concrete sounds into a compelling auditory experience. Drawing on influences from Jimi Hendrix to Luciano Berio, he mixes acoustic guitars and folk percussion with innovative electronic processing, creating a sound that feels both groundbreaking and timeless. The album's centerpiece is a nine-minute hard blues rock jam featuring vocals by Giano Ton (Giacomo Tosti), finally available on vinyl in its extended version. The score's dynamic phaser effects, created with a Leslie filter, add to the soundtrack's distinctiveness and its packaging - in a beautifully designed gatefold jacket by Eric Adrien Lee - adds a great visual touch to the overall package.

Review: A true enigma, an artist that represents all that was fascinating and romantic and alluring and intriguing about 20th Century sounds, Brian Eno was always going to need a feature length documentary, when the time was right. Premiering at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, Eno, Gary Hustwit's ode to the man, myth and legend, wowed critics and blew audiences away. Not least because it uses a computer programme which selects footage and edits the movie so a different version is shown at every screening. Innovation befitting Eno, removing the visuals and focusing on the sounds readjusts our vision to bring Eno into greater focus. The breadth of what's on this soundtrack is remarkable, from upfront indie on 'Stiff' and the weird folk-pop of 'Spinning Away', a John Cale collaboration, the ghostly post-rave of 'Cmon' with Fred Again, spectacular pianos of 'Motion In The Field', ethereal ambient vocals on 'There Were Bells', the angular punk dominating 'Third Uncle' - we could go on, and on, and on.

Review: In Dune: Part Two, Hans Zimmer's score builds upon the epic saga with powerful bombast and intricate themes. The enchanting love motif and thrilling action sequences showcase Zimmer's talent, enhancing the film's atmosphere to unparalleled levels, ensuring an unforgettable cinematic experience. Standout pieces include are the gorgeous love theme for Paul and Chani, introduced in 'Beginnings Are Such Delicate Times' with romantic woodwinds and soaring synth. Zimmer's ability to craft a rich world in sound is evident throughout, with eerie vocals and deep brass setting an ominous tone in tracks like 'Eclipse' and 'Harvester Attack.' Action sequences like 'Worm Ride' and 'Ornithopter Attack' include intense percussion and bursts of Paul's motif. The album balances foreboding dread with hopeful themes, culminating in a triumphant victory in 'Kiss The Ring.' Zimmer's themes weave together seamlessly, with the House Atreides theme transformed into a beautiful love theme and the 'Holy War' motif evolving into Paul's Victory theme. Part Two's score is a triumphant step-up from the first film and a soundtrack that is equal to the amazing visual appeal of the film it supports.

Review: Nick Cave and Warren Ellis's soundtrack for the National Geographic documentary about an imagined 2033 manned mission to Mars feels like a sketch for the atmospheric soundscapes of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' 2016 album Skeleton Tree. Both works inhabit the same dark-hued, super-charged sonic atmosphere. Cave's cinematic music, enriched by Ellis's imaginative contributions, explores a wide range of sounds: distorted guitars in 'Space X,' sibylline keyboard arpeggios in 'Space Station,' and vast synthesized swathes evoking space's void. 'Planetarium' features soulful drones and synthesized strings, creating anticipation and stillness. With few vocals, this ambient soundtrack is perfect for chilling out and daydreaming. It's a departure from the intense emotions of the Bad Seeds, reflecting Cave's inward focus after personal tragedy. Unlike many soundtracks, this one stands apart, integral to Cave and Ellis's collaboration, and can be savored without thinking about Mars. Now available on vinyl for the first time!

Review: The Twilight Saga: New Moon OST features a stellar lineup of indie and alternative artists. With contributions from Thom Yorke, Death Cab for Cutie, Grizzly Bear, Bon Iver, St. Vincent, and Muse, the album brings together a diverse and talented group of musicians. Thom Yorke's 'Hearing Damage' stands out with its jittery synth-rock, capturing the emotional intensity of the film. Grizzly Bear's collaboration with Victoria Legrand on 'Slow Life' and Bon Iver's duet with St. Vincent on 'Roslyn' add ethereal beauty to the soundtrack. Death Cab for Cutie's 'Meet Me on the Equinox' delivers a powerful anthem, while Lykke Li's 'Possibility' showcases her haunting vocal prowess. Even the more upbeat tracks like Hurricane Bells' 'Monsters' and Sea Wolf's 'The Violet Hour' bring a refreshing energy to the mix. The album encapsulates the melancholic and romantic themes of New Moon, making it an essential companion for fans of the series and indie music enthusiasts alike.

Review: Michael Giacchino's score for 'Lost: Season 1' did plenty to add to the cult shows mystical appeal. Released originally in 2006 and now arriving via Craft across four sides of vinyl, the soundtrack weaves a rich tapestry of emotion, mystery and adventure with Giacchino's evocative compositions capturing the essence of the show's enigmatic island setting and enhancing the drama and suspense of each episode. The main theme, with its haunting strings and ethereal melodies, became synonymous with the series and contributed to its atmospheric allure. Giacchino's ability to create a musical landscape that mirrors the show's complexity makes this a standout soundtrack of its kind.

Review: Now celebrating its 30th anniversary, and arriving as a specially expanded edition to mark the occasion, the Murder Was The Case soundtrack remains an iconic work in hip-hop history. Originally accompanying the short film directed by Dr. Dre and Fab Five Freddy, this album embodies the essence of West Coast gangsta rap of the 90s. Featuring tracks from legends of the game like Snoop Dogg, Tha Dogg Pound, and more, it captures the gritty realities of street life with raw lyricism and infectious beats. From the haunting title track to the catchy grooves of 'Natural Born Killaz,' each song immerses you in the vivid world of the film and the era's burgeoning rap scene.

Review: In the John Williams & Hans Zimmer Odyssey, the Orchestre Curieux embarks on a sonic journey through the iconic film scores of two legendary composers. John Williams, known for his sweeping orchestral arrangements in classics like Star Wars and Jurassic Park, contrasts with Hans Zimmer's modern, dynamic and more minimal soundscapes from films like Inception and Gladiator. This orchestral fusion bridges generations of cinema lovers and seamlessly blends Williams' timeless melodies with Zimmer's contemporary flair. The performance promises a cinematic experience, transporting audiences through the rich tapestry of emotions evoked by these masterpieces, all interpreted through the Orchestre Curieux's unique artistic lens.

Review: The Bridgerton Season 3 soundtrack continues the series' tradition of blending regency-era elegance with modern pop hits. Season 3 focuses on the romance between Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin (Luke Newton), featuring string covers of iconic songs and the series' first-ever original track, 'All I Want,' performed by Tori Kelly. Episode highlights include Gayle's 'Abcdefu,' BTS's 'Dynamite,' Nick Jonas's 'Jealous,' and Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey's 'Snow on the Beach.' Billie Eilish's 'Happier Than Ever' and Sia's 'Cheap Thrills' also shine, while Coldplay's 'Yellow' and Ellie Goulding's 'Lights (Stripped Down)' close out the season beautifully. Available on wedding band-coloured vinyl, not something we get to say very often.

Review: Ben Salisbury and Geoff Barrow's soundtrack for the 2024 thriller drama Civil War is a triumph of atmospheric soundscaping. Known for their work on Ex Machina, the duo brings their signature touch to this film, blending ambient synths with subtle guitar to create an immersive auditory experience. The score, perfectly complements the film's intense narrative and striking visuals. Tracks like 'Body Pit' deliver a haunting, dissonant edge, while 'Flashback,' 'Aftermath,' and 'Moving Out' offer a poignant, minimalist theme that subtly underscores the emotional journey of the characters. The music's simplicity and repetitive motifs evoke a powerful sense of place and mood, making it an essential companion to the film's story. Now available on vinyl for the first time, this score is for fans of the innovative film music and those who appreciate Salisbury and Barrow's evocative style.

Review: Clark must be ranked among the most innovative, forward-thinking and shape-shifting music producers in the world today. At times ferociously intense, in other moments serenely beautiful, here he turns his abundant talent to Naqqash Khalid's award-winning debut feature film, 'In Camera', and the results are every bit as sophisticated and mesmerising as we might hope. Stop-you-dead synth overtures like 'Running Dreams' dissipate into otherworldly covers of The Carpenters and Sonic Youth's 'Superstar', the heartbroken alt-pop of 'Green Blood' and its compatriot, 'Blue Blood'. It's a stunning piece of work that showcases the refined talents of a studio behemoth, fitting in perfectly next to recent artist albums Playground In A Lake and Sus Dog. "I knew from the outset I wanted to work with an artist and have the soundtrack not be something that acts in support of the film," Khalid is quoted in the release notes here. Mission accomplished.

Review: The soundtrack to Graham Eatough's stage adaptation of David Keenan's novel, This Is Memorial Device, composed by Stephen Pastel - of Kurt Cobain faves The Pastels fame - and Gavin Thomson, offers a compelling third iteration of the book's myth. Fusing reworked home recordings from the era with expanded versions of music originally scored for the theatre production, the album captures the essence of Glasgow's post-punk scene from 1978 to 1986. Tracks like 'Introduction To Why I Did It' and 'We Have Sex' evoke a sense of youthful hope and creativity, reflecting the play's exploration of art, music, and romance in small-town Scotland. Directed by Julian House, the video for 'We Have Sex' adds a vibrant visual dimension to the DIY aesthetic of the era. This Is Memorial Device: Music from the Stage Play not only complements the book and stage adaptation but also stands on its own torch for the spirit of post-punk and the power of belief in the transformative potential of art.

Review: It's been a wee while - five years, in fact - since Thom Yorke released a solo album, the much admired and pleasingly left-of-centre Anima. The Radiohead man has kept himself busy though, first with eye-catching collaborative projects and now turning himself into a soundtrack composer. Confidenza is perhaps not a particularly high profile film, but Yorke's soundtrack is certainly impressive. Recorded with the assistance of regular collaborator Sam Petts-Davis and featuring an orchestra and a wealth of talented jazz musicians, Yorke's score is dusty, evocative and smothered in fuzzy field recordings, mixing heartfelt ambient-pop songs ('Knife Edge'), shuffling contemporary jazz ('Prize Giving'), and soaring epics that combine sweeping orchestration with creepy electronics ('Four Ways In Time').

Compiled from extensive footage, music, and interviews, each screening of the film is different as it delves into Eno's music, art, and ideas. Accompanying this cinematic journey is a soundtrack spanning Eno's illustrious career, from early solo works to recent collaborations. Released on CD, the album features tracks from 14 different albums, including three previously unreleased recordings. 'Lighthouse #429, the first track from Eno's Sonos radio station, offers a glimpse into his extensive archive and overall this album celebrates Eno's influential legacy.

Review: There are back stories, and then there's Chess of the Wind. Sheila Gharachedaghi's remarkable movie soundtrack wouldn't be here today if it weren't for the fact the movie itself - a 1976, pre-revolutionary Iranian queer-gothic-class-horror masterpiece - had been banned in its homeland and presumed lost forever, until a copy turned up in an antique shop. That was 2014, and six years later it was re-released, having benefited from restoration by the Martin Scorsese Film Foundation. A remarkable insight not just into a society long since lost, but its pitfalls and problems, to accompany this Gharachedaghi combines classical Persian instrumentation and atonal dissonance, traditional melodies and experimental moods for a score that's just as much of a landmark.

Review: Thom Yorke's original score for Confidenza is a haunting masterpiece, blending synths, strings and jazz elements to create an atmospheric journey through love, loss, and life. From the ominous strangeness of 'The Big City' to the unsettling strings of 'Nosebleed Nuptials', Yorke's compositions evoke a sense of unease and beauty. Collaborating with trusted partners like the London Contemporary Orchestra and Robert Stillman, Yorke crafts a sonic landscape that is both immersive and emotionally resonant. 'Confidenza' displays Yorke's creative honesty and unrestrained talent. It's a triumph of subtle yet complex artistry, offering listeners an unforgettable experience that transcends the boundaries of traditional film scoring.

Review: Ennio Morricone's score for Il Gatto is a standout in his work for Italian Giallo films. Though the story got mixed reviews, Argento's direction and Morricone's music elevate the film with its tension-building, subconscious fear-stoking and gorgeous cinematography. The score is marked by a jazz-influenced bass guitar and a five-note motif, expanded upon with diverse instruments like strings, high-pitched organs, eerie woodwinds and ghostly voices. While repetitive textural ideas form the score's heartbeat, subtle musical accents keep it intriguing. This score masterfully enhances the film's nightmarish atmosphere. The track 'Mariangela E La Seduzione)' offers a rare semi-sweet melody, while the track 'Quartetto Tiberini' adds depth to the overall experience. Morricone's terrifying, hallucinatory score for Il Gatto is among his finest work.

Vinyl Magic is celebrating Ennio's career with multiple compilations dedicated to the particular styles of movies. This collection features highlights of ones done for Thrillers & Noir genres. Many of these are rare portions from Italian only movies which truly excites current fans of his work. Ennio Morricone's career is respectfully perfectly by Magic Vinyl with these compilations. Review: Blake Neely's Masters of the Air is a stellar war score, much like his work for The Pacific and Greyhound. It achieves a near-perfect balance of bold heroism and quiet solemnity, bound together with a memorable main theme in 'Soar'. Neely, who previously worked on The Pacific alongside Hans Zimmer and Geoff Zanelli, has once again captured the raw heroism and terrible horror of WWII. The main theme, introduced in 'Soar (Main Title)', is elegant and evokes flying, though it may take a few listens to fully catch. Highlights include the tense 'Around The Clock', the sorrowful 'Every Second Is A Little Death', and the thunderous 'The Bloody Hundredth'. The score's mix of grand and rousing tracks with quieter, solemn moments, like 'Going Home', makes it a solidly entertaining listen. Fans of Neely's previous work, will find much to appreciate in this well-crafted soundtrack.

Matt Smith - "Let Me In" (4:02)
Crewdson & Cevanne - "Let Me In" (2:31)
Review: Matthew Herbert's score for Starve Acre is an atmospheric blend of tension and subtlety, perfectly complementing the film's eerie rural setting. Known for his innovative soundtracks - as well as his innovative house productions - Herbert delivers a composition that merges traditional orchestral elements with unsettling electronic soundscapes. The result is a haunting mix that mirrors the film's themes of grief, folklore, and the supernatural. Throughout the score, Herbert balances delicate, pastoral melodies with darker, more ominous tones. Tracks swell gently before giving way to deeper, more unsettling layers, capturing the oppressive sense of dread that permeates the film. The inclusion of two renditions of 'Let Me In' i one performed by actor Matt Smith and another by folk-electronic duo Crewdson & Cevanne i adds a folkish, melancholic edge to the soundtrack. Each version offers a distinct interpretation, with Smith's stripped-down approach contrasting with Crewdson & Cevanne's more textured take. Overall, Herbert's minimalist yet powerful score elevates the haunting atmosphere of Starve Acre, turning it into an unsettling sonic experience. Fans of atmospheric soundtracks and experimental compositions will appreciate the subtle craftsmanship on display.

Love Song For A Vampire (performed by Annie Lennox) (4:24)
Review: In 1992, Francis Ford Coppola tapped Polish composer Wojciech Kilar to create the score for his adaptation of Dracula. Kilar, relatively unknown at the time, crafted a haunting and atmospheric composition that adds depth to the story of the infamous vampire. The score relies on low tones to evoke dread, as heard in the main title, 'Dracula: In the Beginning', where deep cello and bass strings set a sinister tone for Count Dracula's eerie castle. 'Vampire Hunters' builds a tense violin theme, punctuated by woodwinds and percussion, reflecting the determination of Van Helsing in his pursuit of the vampire. 'Ring of Fire' delivers a ferocious climax, blending demonic voices and chorale elements in a chilling fashion. The highlight of the score is its haunting minimalism. Kilar avoids conventional melodies, focusing instead on repetitive, unsettling arrangements that grow in intensity. Tracks like 'The Storm' showcase his mastery, shifting from delicate harp plucking to powerful brass and gothic organ swells. Kilar's score stands out for its unique use of instrumentation and atmosphere, making it a perfect complement to the gothic horror of the film. Now available on 180-gram yellow vinyl, this chilling composition is essential for fans of the legendary story.

Review: When Italian film director Luca Guadagnino commissioned long-term collaborators Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to write and produce the soundtrack for Challengers, he had a clear idea in mind: music rooted in Berlin techno and 90s rave'. Reznor and Ross undoubtedly delivered, creating heavily electronic music that veers between guitar-laden nu-rave ('Yeah x10'), throbbing peak-time workouts (the Moroder-goes-to-Berghain flex of 'Challengers'), tech-tinged nu-disco ('The Signal', 'The Points That Matter'), pitched-black EBM-techno fusion ('Brutalizer') and acid-fired insanity ('Pull Over'). There are occasional nods to more classical movie soundtracks - see the choral versions of Benjamin Britten's 'New Year Prayer' - but for the most part it is a thrill-a-minute ride through deliciously heavy rhythms, basslines and electronics.

Review: An impressive lineup of talent from Universal Pictures' much-anticipated film adaptation, with music and lyrics by the acclaimed Stephen Schwartz. This cinematic release features captivating performances from a star-studded cast, including the Emmy, Grammy and Tony-winning Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and pop icon Ariana Grande as Glinda. Their voices bring new dimensions to beloved songs like 'Defying Gravity' and 'Popular', infusing these classics with fresh interpretations. Alongside them, Michelle Yeoh steps into the role of Madame Morrible, while Jonathan Bailey charms as the free-spirited Fiyero. Jeff Goldblum rounds out the cast as the Wizard, bringing a familiar warmth to 'A Sentimental Man.' With tracks like 'One Short Day' and 'I'm Not That Girl', the film's unique take on the iconic score is undeniable. This soundtrack, releasing ahead of Wicked's theatrical debut, gives fans a glimpse into the reimagined story that's been a stage favorite for decades. Anticipation will only grow as this film, the first in a two-part series, heads to theaters, promising a fresh experience for longtime fans and newcomers alike.

Review: The American Psycho comic series soundtrack brings together a bold collection of covers and original tracks inspired by the chilling atmosphere of the iconic story. While the album features unique renditions of 80s-centric tracks, the lineup spans a diverse range of genres from metal to synthwave, perfectly capturing the series' dark tone. Highlights include Puscifer's brooding'The Algorithm', 'Ice Nine Kills' unexpected collaboration with Reel Big Fish on a cover of 'Walking on Sunshine' and Carpenter Brut's sinister take on Billy Idol's 'Eyes Without A Face', featuring Ulver's Krystoffer Rygg. Other standout tracks include Perturbator's electrifying version of Depeche Mode's 'Dangerous', Diamante's fiery rendition of Pat Benatar's 'Love Is a Battlefield' and Charlotte Sands' punchy cover of AFI's 'Miss Murder'. The soundtrack also presents gritty covers of classics like 'Where Did You Sleep Last Night?' by Royal & the Serpent and Ramsey and Gvllow's dark twist on 'Eyes Without A Face'. This album is more than just a soundtrackiit's a visceral experience, designed to immerse listeners in the twisted world of American Psycho. The vinyl release, featuring a unique apple red/beer/black galaxy design, will be a collector's item for fans of the series and its music. This soundtrack is a powerful companion to the reimagined tale of Patrick Bateman and his obsessive fan Charlie.

Review: A selection of Ennio Morricone's classics are collected on this new compilation named after the Pedro Almodovar film of the same name, on which the titanic soundtrack artist worked hard to develop hitherto unheard motifs for piano and orchestra. Issued on heavyweight black vinyl, only the very best sound is afforded to many of Morricone's deeper cuts here, including further theme tunes from spectacular classics such as Making Love (2000), Disobedience (1981) and Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down (1989). Featuring swelling strings, ominous oboes, pernickety pianos and vitreous vocals from Morricone's longtime soprano collaborator Edda Dell'Orso, there's something here for every admirer of the songster's ingenious craft.

Review: Resurfacing from obscurity after 58 years in the Louis Wayne Moody Pictures vault, this unearthed soundtrack unveils a treasure trove of melancholic melodies, mournful guitars, and eerie echoes. It is another of the seemingly endless gems to come from the great folks at Number Uno and is laden with themes of abandonment, shattered dreams, and existential ponderings. The album, titled They Move in the Night, weaves a narrative of moral ambiguity and tearful farewells, set against the backdrop of lukewarm diner coffee and the relentless pursuit of society's shadows. Fascinating stuff.
