Review: Trunk Records, curated by noted crate digger Jonny Trunk, has always done a neat line in uncovering weird and wonderful gems, mostly from dusty records found in charity shops and bargain bins. Here, Trunk showcases some of those finds, opting for "funny old shit" that veers from the sublime (the Jellies' much-loved "Jive Baby On A Saturday Night" and Larry Baschet's spooky, cinematic "Rapsodie De Budapest") to the ridiculous (comedy calypso numbers from Bernard Cribbins and Robert Mitchum). Along the way, expect to hear tongue-in-cheek easy listening, Radiophonic Workshop experimentalism, and African jazz (Guy Warren of Ghana).
