Dudes what's up, someone explain to me how all these minimal-deep_house-techno records are coming out of Germany. So many of them sound exactly the same, can't buy a vocal, not even a vocal snippet among them. It's shocking that there's even a market for such an abbreviated musical style. Mostly I'm surprised at the investment in pressing them on plastic as almost none of them strike me as having enduring value or that there could even be demand for that many examples of this style.
Anyway, in the Deep House and Party music style ;) , it's been pretty thin on the ground lately especially for vinyl pressings, sort of the opposite of the German deep house thing described above. All the same, there are a few decent records out, the Steal Vybe/Francis Mbappe 'Feel Alright' is a hot one, the Tedd Patterson 'Shattered' is kinda fresh. But from there, I'm still playing stuff that's been out for awhile, which isn't a problem because I like to play good records all year and will chart them accordingly. Also should mention, the Dan Electro (see Track 2 on that one) is hot in its Frank Rogers rmx, was tipped around recently.
Emailed Nick holder who put me onto Bobby Konders classic "Rydims" EP for some reggae accas to use, missed Enur 'Calabria' on Ministry of Sound Germany for the acca on that, and checked Ron Trent's rmx of Erykah Badu's "Honey" on his myspace page, rmx is smoking hot (like #1) but likely will never be pressed is my gut feeling. Ron Trent is doing some super interesting stuff lately.
If anyone has a copy of Enur 'Calabria' on Ministry of Sound Germany, it has the accapella, then email me if you want to sell the record for a reasonable amount.
