Notes: The new ADDAC320 Servo Control is a nod to Neil Young's Whizzer, a device that was ahead of its time. This tool enabled control over amplifier pots through the use of pedals, resulting in far-reaching tonal variation. Inspired by this methodology, ADDAC's Servo Control incorporates a Servo motor into a 4 HP Eurorack module, enabling it to control any knob that doesn't have a CV input, or other gear such as guitar pedals - within certain distance constraints.
A servo is a specific type of motor that can be digitally controlled to work at precise angles. On the ADDAC320, it is controlled by a microcontroller which is able to receive an incoming CV voltage from 0 to +5v and linearly converts this voltage range to the 270 degree Servo motor range. Using a spring wire and metal couplers, the motor shaft is then attached to the target knob to be controlled, which will turn as the Servo turns.?Two other knobs, Maximum Angle and Minimum Angle, allow further control of the "sweet spot" of the target knob, establishing a smaller Servo range.

After being discharged from the army in 1946, Ray and Marv Lubow formed Tel-Ray Electronics, specializing in Television and Radio repair. As the company grew, Ray also began dabbling in audio inventions specifically, delay. Les Paul had already pioneered an effect called tape echo, but folks were trying to figure out how to make a smaller, more practical version of this oversized effect. Inspired to do just that, on June 30, 1959, Ray submitted the patent for an electro-static delay apparatus known today as the oil can delay.
These delay units contained oil in a tuna-can shaped drum that was moved by a belt mechanism that turned the drum while a special disk apparatus on which the audio signal charge was written and read through rubber wiper heads. The playback speed was directly related to the drum's rotation speed. The oil acted as a protective layer to keep the audio signal "charge" electrons in place, creating a truly unique echo effect with elements of vibrato and slapback delay. Ray Lubow began licensing the oil can delay technology to amplifier companies, including Fender, Gibson, and Rickenbacker. In the late 1960s, Ray and Marv decided they wanted to start selling their devices under their own brand name and launched the now legendary effects company, Morley. Ray chose the name as a none-to-subtle jab at their competitor Leslie: Why settle for less with a Leslie when you can get more with Morley? Morley manufactured oil can delays up until 1989.
At Wilco's Solid Sound Festival in 2022, JHS founder Josh Scott found himself in a discussion with legendary guitarist Nels Cline. Nels brought up the subject of weird delays, leading to an in-depth discussion of the strangest pedals they'd ever played. Josh received a message from Nels a few days later asking if JHS made an oil can style delay and began explaining the particular sound he wanted from this type of echo. Though JHS didn't have one in the official lineup, Josh and team developed a one-off oil can delay pedal. When they presented it to Nels as a gift, he liked it so much that he used it through the recording and touring process for Wilco's Cruel Country and now their latest release, Cousin.
Though the JHS Oil Can Delay isn't a signature artist pedal, we're still grateful to Nels Cline for inspiring it. We're proud to offer you this unique pedal for your own collection.

A revision 02 of ADDAC's Power Starvation module
Notes: This is a revision 02 of ADDAC's Power Starvation module.
It provides an "ideal" way to power starve other modules, starving modules means the modules will receive less voltage than the standard +/-12V supply.
Power starvation is the first hack that any "DIY'er" learns. It's also one of the hacks that can generate some of the most interesting sonic effects in circuit bending.
Plug any module below +/-200mA through it and independently tune it's supply power. This will have most interesting effects in analog modules: filters, delays, mixers... They can either go silent or start screaming at your ears, going berserk with the lack of current to behaving normally, making them cough, choke... Something like a safely induced heart attack...
While revision 01 was a simple circuit with pot working as a voltage divider, this upgraded version uses a DC to DC converter that receives its input from the +12V power rail and outputs a bipolar 15V supply. This DC-DC converter also offers short circuit and overcurrent protection. The +/-15V lines are then sent through variable analog voltage regulators that can output a range of 2.5V to 13.5V.
In other words, the module features a +/-200mA PSU with variable voltage outputs.

Tape delay was invented in the late 40s when Les Paul strung two Ampex Model 200A reel-to-reel tape recorders together. A little later, in 1953, Ray Butts invented the Echosonic, the first actual tape delay unit. The two footswitches are the primary means for controlling this feature, used through short presses and holds to trigger phrase recording, playback, overdubs, cancellations, and, most impressively, undo and redos. Most importantly, the pedal's position-jumping function gives users the flexibility to switch between storage slots with the footswitches while performing, providing them with the potential to perform fully structured loop-based music.
In synchronization with the phrase looper, users of the GL100 can also leverage the pedal's integrated drum machine, which contains 11 variations of 20 different drum pattern styles in various time signatures. The term "digital" typically brings to mind sounds that are based on PCM-sampled bass drum, snare drum, or cymbal, but the volca drum creates its drum sounds by DSP-powered analogue modelling. Oscillator waveforms such as sine wave, sawtooth wave, and noise are provided. By applying various changes to these waveforms, you can create a wide variety of percussion sounds that range from realistic to idiosyncratic, and are not limited only to drums.
The six parts each have two layers, and do not impose any rules or restrictions such as specifying which parts must be used for the bass drum or for the cymbal; all parts have the same specifications. You can freely assign your new sounds to these six parts without being limited by the conventions of a drum set. A kit consists of the six parts that you've assigned plus the waveguide resonator effect settings, and 16 such kits can be stored in memory (the factory settings contain 10 preload kits).
Distinctive sound from a newly developed DSP engine:
Each part consists of two layers. For each layer, users choose one of five types of oscillator waveform including sine wave, sawtooth wave, and HPF noise, and also choose from three types of pitch modulator and amp EG, each optimized for drum sounds. Layer parameters can be edited either individually or simultaneously, and users can also use the two layers to produce the same sound for additional thickness.
Waveguide resonator adds rich resonances:
The effect section features a waveguide resonator that's based on physical modelling, and which adds sympathetic resonances to the sound. You can choose from two types of waveguide: "tube" which adds the resonance of a cylindrical object such as a drum body or a long pipe, or "strings" which adds the metallic resonance of a string. The three knobs located in the centre of the panel let you specify the DECAY (amount of attenuation), BODY (sonic character), and TUNE (pitch). Setting TUNE to a lower value will produce a delay-like behaviour. You can take advantage of these knobs not only for sound design but also in your live performances.
16-step sequencer with a wide range of parameter automation:
The 16-step sequencer is excellent for improvisation. You can easily create patterns using the 16 buttons, each corresponding to one of the 16 steps. In addition to step recording, the sequencer also supports realtime recording in which you can construct a pattern while looping the playback. The pattern chain function lets you play multiple sequence patterns successively, so you can successively play back desired patterns of consecutive numbers. Up to 16 sequences can be connected to construct patterns with 256 steps.
