Review: Some deliciously funky upbeat rhthyms here from the Una Mas Trio. The trio, which is really just a duo (Christian Schilgen and Fab DJ Sammy from Braunschweig, Germany) drop some wonderful brass and flute harmonies on ''Balkumbia'' which will warm your soul and have you asking, 'what's that tugging on my lip' (answer: it's a smile). Meanwhile the soothing sax and organs on closing track ''Mina'' take the Juno award for EP highlight.
Review: Jazzy hip-hop instrumental release from Vitamin D & Gramatik. Nice beats and keyboard touches on both sides so get 'em whilst their hot. Only 250 pressed!
Review: Groove Dis Exclusive! A limited edition LATIN SOUL BROTHAS fusion rework session! 1st is a remix slept on by MAW's LOUIE VEGA (who waited too long to put it out), a rendition of HECTOR LAVOE's "MI GENTE" that is absolutely amazing. On the flip, SANTANA's "DANCE SISTER DANCE (BAILA MI HERMANA)" gets reworked for a big dancefloor tune. Highly recommended! HOUSE
Review: Nod Navigators secure this rather nice debut release from The Blessings aka Dom Sum and Fine Art, the founders of awesome Glaswegian imprint Luckyme. Across the seven tracks on Galaxy High the duo combine an understanding of 80s New Jack nostalgia with bouncing future R&B rhythms, crunching beat programming and shimmering synth funk.
