Simoncino is so prolific we have a wager going in the office that the Italian isn't actually human, but rather some kind of Chicago House obsessed cyborg programmed to skillfully manipulate an array of analogue machinery. Releasing two 12"s in one week only strengthens these odds, with the excellent Greek label Echovolt the conduit through which Simoncino presents his latest experiments on the house sound. "Where Did U Go" sees Simoncino team up with legendary UK vocalist Julian Jonah - a man who has worked with Paul Hardcastle and 187 Lockdown in his time - for some shimmering house business that brings to mind classic Larry Heard or Ten City. As sublime as the A Side version is, the DJ's will probably favour the accompanying Dub version.
