Kompakt revisit Cupid's Head, last year's The Field long player from Axel Willner for CUPID'S HEAD REMIXE I, a classy remix package in the company of Vatican Shadow, Barker & Baumecker and Sonns. Hospital Productions boss Dominick Fernow is up first and offers a serene take on "Cupid's Head" that's a notable contrast to some of his work as Vatican Shadow but is no less impressive, whilst Ostgut duo Barker & Baumecker take a more kinetic approach, adding micro breakbeats and a gradually swelling sense of glistening texture. Split Secs' Alexandre Mouracade dons his solo SONNS outfit for a wonderful final 9 minute take filled with cooing vocal harmonies and a warm bassy undercurrent that is toyed with playfully by the drum fills.
