Review: Uwe Zahn might have been active under his real name more recently, but his longtime Arovane project has always remained steady apace. That being said, there's also a great impetus to reissue his music going at the minute: Lilies is the ambient musician's fourth album, and was originally released in 2004 by City Centre Offices, a label run between Berlin and Manchester. Inspired by a trip to Japan, there is an unmistakable eco-ambient undercurrent to this album. Out of print for almost two decades, Kepler do the good work of reissuing it now: Lilies is exquisite, with its laboured rhythmatics and lush synthetic plucks providing a blueprint for generations of Western ambient (techno) artists to come.

Review: For its 20th anniversary, Keplar presents an absolute milestone in the history of IDM and ambient music for the first time in its definite form: Together Is the New Alone by Donnacha Costello was originally released on Mille Plateaux in 2001 as the second LP under the Irish producer's given name and firmly established him as one of the leading artists in the field of forward-thinking electronic music after he had primarily made a name for himself with house and techno releases under the Jayrod moniker. This vinyl reissue with an entirely new artwork comprises all ten tracks originally only included on the CD version in their edited and final form in which they were last presented on the digital re-release under the name Together, remastered by Stephan Mathieu and self-published by Costello, in 2015.

Review: The Fun Years is a group formed by multi-instrumentalists Ben Recht and Isaac Sparks and they have crafted a fine blend of ambient, drone, post-rock and turntablism since the early 2000s. Baby It's Cold Inside was originally released in 2008 and still stands as their pinnacle with evocative turntable loops creating textures that bring to mind Philip Jeck and Jan Jelinek while baritone guitar drones and subtle processing add depth. Tracks like 'My Lowville' offer slow post-rock motifs while 'Auto Show of the Dead' explores piano and guitar intricacies. This reissue has been remastered by LUPO and is right up there with any 2000s ambient masterpiece.

Review: Shuttle358's Optimal.LP, finally available on vinyl for its 25th anniversary, is a landmark debut showcasing Dan Abrams' innovative approach to ambient glitch and dub. Abrams, immersed in the electronica scene of the 1990s, crafted a beautiful sonic landscape that blends ambient drones, delicate melodies, and digital static with remarkable sophistication. The album's juxtaposition of elements creates a tension that is both jarring and oddly soothing, inviting listeners into a world of sonic experimentation and exploration. From the rhythmic complexity of 1990s electronica to the emerging clicks'n'cuts movement, Optimal.LP stands as a landmark piece of work, informed by tradition yet visionary and idiosyncratic. Remastered by Andreas [LUPO] Lubich and featuring three previously unreleased tracks, this vinyl reissue captures the essence of Abrams' artistic vision. With new artwork by Daniel Castrejon, the album's aesthetic appeal is as compelling as its sonic depth. This is sure to be one of the best reissues in 2024 for electronica.

Review: This is a fully remastered version of Vladislav Delays classic Entain album across four sides of vinyl courtesy of Kepler. Originally released on March 3, 2000 it is one of many greats from Sasu Ripatti's archive of sonic riches and was his game changing debut originally on Mille Plateaux. It is a real classic of the minimal electronics era with plenty of devilishly deep details and electro-acoustic dub fissures. The album found Delay get ever more abstract than he had before on his 'Multila' works for Chain Reaction, and fuller deep house sound of 'Vocalcity' as Luomo.
