Groovewasher's top-of-the-line record and stylus care system. Elegant and effective.

Groovewasher's walnut products are solid chunks of 40 year old Black Walnut trees. Every one is unique. Some may have small surface cracks, splits or knots. This is the character of the wood, not a craftsman's mistake.

Notes: This 15 ml (approx 1/2 oz) bottle of SC1 Fluid is formulated for use with the GrooveWasher SC1 Stylus Brush. It is also effective with other stylus brush styles.

Thw SC1 Stylus Fluid is a cousin of GrooveWasher's G2 Fluid. It has a relatively low concentration of organic alcohol compared to the other stylus fluids, which are often 100% isopropyl alcohol. Iso alcohol is an effective solvent but it evaporates too quickly and the contaminants can dry back on the stylus before it is removed with the brush.

Ideal handle shape--4.6" long and curved to fit your hand. Easy to control while brushing the stylus and underside of the cartridge. Dense but soft nylon bristles, trimmed to a dome shape. Gentle on the stylus and cantilever. Can be used dry or with a couple of drops of GrooveWasher SC1 Stylus Fluid.

To clean your stylus safely, pull the brush straight back, from the back of the cartridge to the front.

Notes: Even if you use your GrooveWasher to clean your records, room dust, lint and cat hair can accumulate on your stylus. Your stylus will "plow" out any debris that isn't removed from a record cleaning.

We sourced and tested dozens of brush styles, handle types and bristles. Straight "pencil" brushes. Artist camel hair brushes. Toothbrush styles. Mascara brushes.

We preferred a 90 degree angle. Long bristles so the brush can clean the underside of the cartridge as well as the stylus. Dense bristles to pull off gunky coatings but soft to avoid damage to the stylus or cantilever. Those are the effective cleaning features of our new stylus brush. This brush can be used dry or with a couple of drops of SC1 Fluid.

This kit includes our SC1 Stylus Fluid. It's a cousin of our G2 Fluid with a bit more organic alcohol. The stylus can become clogged with oily pressing release compound from new records and residue from other record cleaning and preservative fluids. SC1 Stylus Fluid dissolves these contaminants and the SC1 Brush removes them.

G2 Record Cleaning Fluid

The GrooveWasher G2 Record Cleaning Fluid is the result of years of research and testing. The selection of ingredients was guided by the formulations of the D series fluids of the 1970s. Replaceable Cleaning Pad Design

The GrooveWasher replaceable microfiber cleaning pad features a super absorbent black terry style split microfiber cover. (Other replacement pad styles are available for separate purchase.) This fabric is effective in removing the contaminants borne in the G2 Fluid from the record's microgroove.

The pad is secured to the walnut handle with low profile hook & loop velcro. This allows the pad to be removed from the walnut handle to be washed or replaced. These cleaning pads are hand made by Groovewasher's textile artists in Kansas City.
