Review: The fifth album from punk troubadour anarchist (and all round questionable human being) GG Allin, endearingly titled, Freaks, Faggots, Drunks & Junkies, was succinctly described by music critic Steve Huey: "Allin's entire output ranks as perhaps the worst music ever recorded; this is its clearest expression." Filled to the brim with a brand of reliable lo-fi, scuzzy, cacophonous mayhem Allin began to make his craft, the LP is noted for showcasing some of the man's first forays into spoken word territory on the bookending opening and closing cuts, 'My Revenge' and the eerie 'My Bloody Mutilation'. Sandwiched in between is a maelstrom of tinny, unpleasant, anti-everything cuts such as 'Be My Fuckin' Whore', 'Suck My Ass It Smells' and who could forget the timeless classic, 'Cunt Sucking Cannibal'. Truly an experiment in the parameters of taste, the overarching message of punk and the separation of ink from the penman.

Review: GG Allin's Freaks, Faggots, Drunks & Junkies was the American punk's fifth album back in 1998. It came on Homestead Records and mixes up punk rock and hardcore with spoken word into a record that feature backing band Bulge. One critic at the time said "Allin's entire output ranks as perhaps the worst music ever recorded; this is its clearest expression" though that hasn't stopped it enduring over the years with punk fans. The recording process was blighted with all sorts of issues such as stolen recordings and was done in New Hampshire where Allin was based at the the time.
