One of several final demo collections by the band Broadcast, all recorded between 2006 and 2009, to be released before they say their final goodbyes to the world as a group. Comprising songs and sketches drawn from the four-track tape archives of the late Trish Keenan, who died in 2011, Spell Broadcast seems a befitting title for the audio-incantation that this large set of 36 originals seems to cast over us. The recordings lay the groundwork for what would have been Broadcast's fifth album, offering a window into Trish and James Cargill's creative process during the post-Tender Buttons period from 2006-2009.
