Arising from the DBH Network also responsible for the Rawax, Unbalance and Chiwax series of releases comes the second round of "proper house" sounds on the self explanatory Housewax imprint. The Social Memory Complex EP features contributions from Alex Danilov and A5 - names familiar to anyone who has kept a keen eye on the DBH release schedule - and the title track sets the tone for what to expect. Submersive bass lines and woozy pads are offset by crisp percussive patterns on a track that sneakily moves from the depths to the heights with consummate ease. Elsewhere "Filter Q" clanks into action from the potent array of twilight textures as Danilov demonstrates a true talent for building layers of percussion as well as a keen eye for rhythmic structure. Just two releases deep, Housewax is clearly a label to watch out for.
