Review: This is nominally a soundtrack, though what for hasn't been explained by either the label or the two artists involved. Unusually, it's a split affair, with the majority of the tracks being provided by Portland producer Hyacinth, with Kent's Central Office of Information contributing a trio of cuts in the middle. While the latter are fine contributions - soft, shuffling blends of pitched-down instrumental dream pop and hazy ambience - it's Hyacinth's evocative efforts, which sashay between slow-motion electronica, horizontal deep synth-pop, warming IDM and softly spoken electronic experiments - that really hit the spot. Throughout, there's a great sense of mood and atmosphere, as befits a (possibly imaginary) soundtrack album.
