Analogue Solutions Ample Analogue Patch Pin Matrix Synthesiser
Cat: 969341 Rel: 11 Sep 23

Analogue patch pin matrix synthesiser with jack sockets, generator style sequencer, touch pads and echo.
Notes: Like a greatest hits of recent Analogue Solutions synths, the Ample combines sound elements from the Fusebox with jack patch points, a patch pin matrix, plus sequencer and CV touch pads from the Generator, creating something new and unique.

Supplier's Notes:
Ample combines the best elements of several of Analogue Solutions' recent products.

The sound elements of Fusebox
Jack patch points of Concussor Eurorack
Patch pin matrix of Vostok
Echo from Dr Strangelove
Sequencer and CV touch pads of Generator

It shares all this yet still has its own sound!

Ample can be as complex or as simple as you want it to be

This synth has been given a large and diverse number of controls, that along side the patch sockets, will give even the best and experienced synthesist endless possibilities.

This synth presents the controls in a user friendly and familiar synth layout that, together with this manual and other resources, enable even the new guy to get great sounds.

Synth - Percussion - Audio Processor

Ample is a compact analogue synthesizer. Analogue - as in really analogue. Aside from the MIDI chip (which has to be digital), everything else is totally analogue using real transistors and op-amps. There are no CPU stabilised and quantised circuits, no DCOs, no digital LFOs and no digital EGs, as found on other so called analogue synths. The circuitry is based on designs dating back to the mid-1970s. So Ample has a genuine old sound.

Circuits included

3x Analogue Oscillators

There are three analogue VCOs - each providing a wealth of features and modulation choices. VCO3 can easily be utilised as a LFO.

2x Analogue Low Frequency Oscillator

LFO2(/Sync) has a triangle wave output. VCO3 can be used as an LFO and has Saw, Triangle and Square wave modulation signals.

Analogue Filter

Ample uses a four pole 24bB per octave low pass filter.

Analogue Amplifier

The VCA can be set to THRU so it is always 'open'. This allows Ample to be used as an effects processor.

2x Analogue Envelopes

There are two EGs - each having full control over ATTACK, DECAY, SUSTAIN, and RELEASE.

Modulation

Great thought has been placed into modulation route choices, allowing a wide range of sounds to be produced, including percussion and 'modular' sounds further extended by patching with the jack sockets and pin matrix.

MIDI

MIDI is intentionally kept simple - so you can concentrate on making new sounds and making music - not getting tied up with SYSEX programming.

You get the all important control over filter cut-off using MIDI Velocity.

Patchable External CV Control Sockets

Ample has many input and output audio and CV sockets - to allow the synth to be effectively re-wired to make new sounds.

The sockets also enable it to be easily used with Eurorack and other modular systems. They can be patched together.

Sequencer

Ample has a vintage style 16 step sequencer.

Touch Keys

There are 6 touch keys that each output a set voltage. Use this to play the pitch or as modulation signals. A great tool for inspiration!

Pin Matrix

A neat way to patch the synth.

Echo

Nice lo-fi echo / delay.

Analogue Solutions AS500-SEQ Standalone 64-Step Analogue Step Sequencer
Cat: 1040140 Rel: 29 Aug 24

Standalone 64-step analogue step sequencer
Notes: Reboot of the classic Megacity sequencer, the AS500 follows the same unique approach with up to 64 steps presented in two banks, each split into groups of eight cascading steps.

Supplier's Notes:
New Analogue Sequencer!

Almost identical re-boot of Analogue Solutions' legendary Megacity sequencer.

Smaller form factor

Desktop design

Some general over enhancements, internal improvements.

Note: This version is pure analogue and does not feature a quantizer or MIDI.

Standalone 64 step analogue step sequencer with a host of unique features that sets it apart from others

What's so special about this sequencer?

AS500 is formatted differently and operates differently than other step sequencer.

Traditionally step sequencers run horizontally from left to right then loop back to step one. You can make the pattern shorter, but generally that's it.

AS500 patterns run vertically downwards in columns. As the end of each column is played, the next to the right is played.

AS500 has a unique Jump system. When a Jump switch is on, the rest of the column's steps are bypassed and the sequencer jumps straight to the start of the next column

These two features in particular as familiar enough ways of working to be intuitive, but different enough to force you to work and think in a slightly different way. The end result is you will get sequences and patterns that you might not have created otherwise.

More Variation

Many step sequencers can start to sound repetitive since it's usually the same single pattern looping endlessly.

AS500 allows you to split the sequencer in half and use the right half as a Fill-In pattern to add variation, much like vintage drum machines.

These Fills are activated via a Push Button, or via a trigger pulse from an external modular.

AS500's format and Jump switches, combined with excellent features like Fill-In, Split sequencers and other features makes AS500 a great sequencer package.

Use

If you are familiar with analogue sequencers in general, then most features of AS500 should be fairly self-explanatory, but it would still be worth having a read through the manual.

The sequencer is laid out in vertical columns, eight in total.

The sequencer runs from top to bottom, and left to right.

The Difference Between Reset and Jump

If a Reset is initiated the sequencer returns to step one, the first step of the sequencer.

Use Reset to shorten the sequence.

If a Jump is initiated the sequencer will advance (jump) to step one of the next column to the right.

Analogue Solutions Generator Rhythmic Step Analogue Sequencer
Cat: 697038 Rel: 22 Oct 18

Playable sequencer featuring 3 channels of 16 steps & real-time touch pads
Notes: Generator is a highly versatile multi-channel analogue step sequencer. It provides a fun and intuitive, yet powerful way to create rhythms and melodies with your modular and CV synths.

Why do I need this sequencer? What's so special?

Generator is a very compact and high-quality step sequencer. It's USP is that it is a playable sequencer. You don't just set up a sequence and leave it looping. The UI is designed in such a way as to make it easy, fun and intuitive to alter the rhythm and to get alternative sequences playing using the real time touch pads.

Generator has plenty of scope for re-patching the signals using CV leads, or via the pre-configured switches.

Generator is super easy to hook up to your analogue synthesisers, Eurorack, and other analogue gear.

Sync to DAW is very easy and solid, using MIDI note 60. Play that note and the sequencer will step.

No menus of multi-button pressed. WYSIWYG front panel control.

Generator can be as complex or as simple as you want it to be:

Analogue Solutions have given this sequencer a large and diverse number of controls, that along side the patch sockets, will give even the best and experienced electronic musician endless possibilities.

The controls are presented in a user friendly and familiar sequencer layout that, together with this manual and other resources, enable even the new guy to get great patterns quickly.

No compromise has been made with the construction of Generator. Cheaper parts have not been used!

Feature Overview:

Analogue Sequencer:
Three channels of 16 steps, each providing true analogue CV outputs. These run in parallel. Total pattern length can be changed, or the pattern reset.

Gate Outs:
Gate output, with an inverted 'flipped' output (positive voltage, but the 'state' is inverted. So this output does the opposite of the main Gate output).

Voltage Generator:
Six 'note' interval voltage generator keyboard. Use to transpose the sequence, reset, start and other things too! Can be clocked by the End Pulse creating a mini-sequence that changes once per bar. Can be used independently as a mini keyboard!

Voltage Controlled Internal Clock:
The internal clock is analogue using an analogue LFO. Speed can be changed using CV. The sequencer can also be clocked using a MIDI note or even using an external clock signal from a modular.

Versatile Control:
Many controls, switches, and jacks to allow you to alter the way the sequencer steps or behaves.

Intuitive Real Time Gate Control:
Or, IReTiGaC (patent pending). Alter the rhythm in real time using just 4 rotary knobs.

Jack Sockets:
So many jacks sockets!

Compact:
Slim form factor.

Analogue Solutions Impulse Command Stereo Analogue Synthesiser & Sequencer
Cat: 727740 Rel: 08 Apr 19

Stereo analogue synthesiser & sequencer
Notes: True stereo analogue synth / sonic realiser. Perfect for melodic and percussion loops. Very easy (and fun!) to create modular style analogue loops. It's a complete sound track all by itself!

It's wrong to call it a synthesizer (in fact a new word needs to be invented) because then you get preconceived ideas about what it does. It's a whole lot more than a synth. It's also part drum synth, part pattern generator, part modular loop producer.

All its unique features plus the 2 independent LPFs give this machine the ability produce stereo loops that sound like multiple synths playing at once.

Special features:
Analogue synth: analogue audio and modulation circuits
Stereo / dual filters
This synth can sound like multiple synths all at once
Stereo digital effects (reverb and delay)
16 step analogue sequencer
16 step MIDI Note sequencer
Dynamic internal patch system
ReOrder! feature to create new melodies from the sequencer
Dynamic VCO mix levels
Semi-modular
High quality build

Impulse Command is a compact true analogue synth in a neat, smart, package. When we say 'real analogue' we mean that the entire audio path (aside from the post effects of course!) and all modulation are entirely analogue, using circuits based on awesome sounding vintage 1970s designs. Their circuits are not locked down by CPUs. Controls are not quantised and read by CPUs. With the exception of the essential digital elements (that is MIDI conversion, sequencer control and digital delay/reverb), Impulse Command really is analogue and the sound benefit is immediately apparent!

We get many good comments about how good Analogue Solutions products sound. How wonderful, warm and full of character they are.

The synth has been designed by Tom Carpenter, a musician and a big fan of electronic music. He knows how to program a synth and what should be expected. It was not designed by an engineer or steered by committee or men in suits. Design wasn't constrained in order to bring maximum profit to share holders! So, the modulation choices and range of sounds they produced have all been carefully thought out and quickly give you those sounds you want: huge bass, synth leads, percussion, effects, modular style sounds.

Circuits:
2 Analogue VCOs
2 24db analogue LPFs
2 Analogue LFOs
2 Analogue ADSR envelopes
16 Step analogue CV sequencer
16 Step MIDI note sequencer
Stereo output / dual filter+VCA

Analogue Solutions Leipzig V3 Analogue Desktop Synthesiser & CV Sequencer (black)
Cat: 820370 Rel: 26 Mar 21

Analogue synthesiser with step sequencer
Notes: Third-gen take on the classic Leipzig monosynth, now updated and improved. Vintage synth fatness by the bucketload here, with a resolutely old-school analogue approach.

Supplier's Notes:
Leipzig-v3 is a 100% analogue synth using circuits that date back to the 1970s and 1980s - these give Leipzig a really old sound that is rich and full of character.

The circuits are not stabilised and sanitised by CPUs and the controls are not read by CPUs and quantised.

Leipzig has a huge sound, especially when used for bass (something it excels at!) The mixer / filter can be really overdriven if required giving the synth a really hard sound. This can be toned down of course and nice soft synth sounds are possible too - and everything in between.

Though a master at big bass sounds, Leipzig is exceptionally good at making electronic percussion. Not just the sounds, but also percussive loops by using the on board step sequencer. Patterns can quickly be produced, then either easily sync'ed to your DAW, or sampled in.

As well as bass and percussion, Leipzig will produce leads, effects, modular style and other sounds equally well.

Leipzig is extremely powerful. Don't be worried by the 'complex' looking front panel. The synth has been designed to be easy to use, ideal for beginners, but still have the depth and versatility to enable many years of superb sounds.

There are many modulation choices on the rotary select switches. All signal choices have been carefully chosen.

Leipzig was designed by a musician of electronic music, and a popular choice by known music professionals.

The on board analogue sequencer is not just for making simple melodies or percussive loops. Think of it also as a modulation source. Each step can be used to drastically change the sounds. This makes it also serve as a simple way of making 'presets'. Just step to get the next sound. The sequencer can control the pitch of either VCO, and also the filter cut-off.

Leipzig also has a 16 note digital sequencer too, for playing back melodies, that can then be manually transposed using your keyboard or DAW.

Sync'ing the sequencer to a MIDI sequencer or DAW couldn't be easier. Sync is easy by sending it MIDI Note 000. That way you can clock the sequencer at any tempo, divide the tempo down (relative to your DAW's tempo), stop it, start it, mute, etc, all from your DAW - something that you cannot do with MIDI Sync.

So Leipzig is ideal for both beginners, and more advanced synthesists and musicians. Use anywhere you want big analogue sounds that have a true vintage sounds. Ideal also if you have the budget for just one analogue synth since this synth covers so many bases (and basses!).
