'Summer Jam' leads with brittle drum machine patterns, dusty chord stabs and shimmering melodic flourishes, unspooling like a sun-faded VHS. Side B dives deeper into twilight territory, dub effects spiralling into half-heard vocal trails and bulbous, filtered bass. The rawness is deliberateievery drop and delay feels like it's been live-dubbed in real time. Known for his idiosyncratic blend of digi-dub, lo-fi electronics and boogie mutations, Tapes keeps things concise but packed with character.
