Bhakti CD

Bhakti Zoh Amba is young tenor saxophonist from Kingsport, Tennesee. She grew up playing in the forests around the small town - music for her was a communion with nature and animals and that shows in her organic sound. It comes from a place of wisdom way beyond her years and takes cues from the likes of sax greats such as Frank Wright, Frank Lowe, and David S. Ware. This album - Bhakti, which means "devotion to God" in Sanskrit - showcases her singular voice with a unique style. Collaborators include pianist Micah Thomas, and metal-infused guitarist Matt Holleberg on a record that goes from beautiful balladry to hymnal and pastoral.
