R&S have assembled an interesting selection of artists to rework the Irish pair’s most recent album Tundra.
This May saw Dara Smith and Ian McDonnell (pictured above) make good on their promise to release a second album through R&S Records in the shape of Tundra, having first appeared on the long-running label with a pair of 12″s last year. Tundra has naturally been the banner release for the Dublin pair in 2015, with just the odd solo 12″ and a few remixes popping up around the album’s release, suggesting they mave have been focusing on developing a new audio-visual show which is premiering at Berlin Atonal next month.
Ahead of that slated performance, R&S have revealed plans to issue an EP of remixes from Tundra, snappily titled Tundra – Remixed, featuring a compelling cross section of artists. Mark Fell stands out immediately, as does Raster-Noton artist Kyoka, whilst both McDonnell and Smith contribute under their Eomac and Arad aliases. The remainder of the eight-track EP features remixes from Bjork producer Spaces, Primitive World (aka former Walls man Sam Willis), Ibiza pairing Acid Mondays and newcomer Lahun. The complete edition of Tundra – Remixed will be released digitally, complemented by a 12″ featuring the Fell and Kyoka remixes.
R&S Records will release Tundra – Remixed by Lakker on August 14.
