Legowelt returns to BAKK

The Hague-based label look to the local hero for their latest release, Laundromat of Your Mind, due out in September.

Overseen by the trio of Handsome Thomas, The Social Lover, and FXHE-referencing Still Serious Nic, the BAKK operation has been an interesting addition to the record label sphere within The Netherlands. Augmented by the ODD Beat Radio show on Intergalactic FM and a series of events dating back to 2011, there is a sense of unpredictability to much that BAKK do that sets them apart from the sometimes far too serious world of techno. Fielding Rod Lee tributes from Aurora Halal, offering rising Dutch producer Robert ‘Faster Action’ Bergman the chance to shine and furthering the Jeremiah R cause are among the highlights of the BAKK label output thus far.

BAKK launched as a label with a split release between the aforementioned Bergman and Dutch icon Danny Wolfers and their fifth release finds the man best known as Legowelt spreading his figurative wings for a full 12″. Due for release in early September, Laundromat of Your Mind ranks as one of the more humourous Legowelt release names of recent times and this extends to the individual track titles too (with “Esoteric Breakfast Buffet” our favourite) and can be previewed below. News of this release for BAKK arrives with Wolfers as busy as ever, with a recent cassette under the name Calimex Mental Implant Corp issued on Nightwind Records and the much awaited Smackos reissue on Berceuse Heroique due imminently.

BAKK will release Laundromat of Your Mind by Legowelt in early September.
