Mannequin are granting the Nation affiliate’s classic remix of the now-defunct Houston duo a vinyl release – stream in full here.

Berlin label Mannequin are becoming quite adept at seeking out the more daring producers out there to add some extra muscle and grit to past artists whose work they have reissued; see the Traxx and An-i edits of Musumeci and the Ancient Methods revisions of Bourbonese Qualk. We can now add Chicago-based gear hoarder Beau Wanzer to this list with the news Mannequin are planning to issue his adjustment of “Disconnect Myself” from //TENSE//, a now defunct duo from Houston, Texas. The original track in question featured on the Escape EP by the duo Mannequin released back in 2011, whilst Wanzer’s remix dates from the same period and later appeared on Inside The Volcano Volume One, a double CD compilation issued by Swedish label Complete Control Productions in 2013.

Mannequin are set to breathe new life into the remix from Wanzer with a one-sided 12″ due out later this month. Described as “Wax-Trax era sounds fused with Wanzer’s notorious grit”, the remix can be heard in full below and lives up to Mannequin’s billing that it’s “guaranteed to pummel”.
