Listen to Helm’s thunderous take on Blood Music

The Alter Stock man is on hair-raising form with a remix contribution to Blood Music’s upcoming new Diagonal release.

Jaime Williams and Oscar Powell don’t often seek out remixes for releases on Diagonal, but on the occasions they do it tends to hit the spot. See the Regis remix of early Powell track “09”, Silent Servant’s razor sharp adjustment of Streetwalker, and last year’s Club Music Remixes package featuring Ancient Methods and Richard H. Kirk. We can add to this select list PAN artist and Alter Stock founder Luke ‘Helm’ Younger who turns in a rare remix for Blood Music’s forthcoming 12″ return to Diagonal.

Younger’s upcoming PAN album Olympic Mess has been an office favourite at Juno Plus this past month and his remix of “Chicks” is just as impressive, even without the chance to hear the original track from Blood Music for comparison. Available to stream in full below, Younger crafts a furious assault of percussive rhythms and industrial textures that teeter on the brink of becoming quite overwhelming before he reins it all for a palate-cleansing finale.
