The New Yoker will release a new album through L.I.E.S. next month.
Marcos Cabral’s affiliation with L.I.E.S. Records almost dates back to the label’s beginning, scoring the second edition of their White Label series in late 2011 with the 24 Hour Flight EP. Prior to this the producer was best known for his work as part of Runaway alongside Jacques Renault. The relationship between Cabral and Ron Morelli’s label was firmed up in 2013 when L.I.E.S. released False Memories, an album of archival material the producer had made over a two year period from 1998 onwards. Following this, Cabral has committed several more 12″ releases to the L.I.E.S. cause as well as deviating off into more brutal territory with a pair of Chemotex records for The Trilogy Tapes and inaugurated his own Duffer Room label.
News arrives today that Cabral will committ another album of material to L.I.E.S. in the shape of the forebodingly named Buried Alive Twice which is due for release next month. Formed of six tracks, the album is described in enticing terms as a listen that will “slowly deliver you to the furthest ends of your mind”. It’s the second album on the plate from L.I.E.S. so far in 2015, the label’s fifth year of upsetting the rhythm, with a second Jahiliyya Fields long player due imminently.
L.I.E.S. Records will release Buried Alive Twice by Marcos Cabral in April.
