Will Bankhead’s label will issue Skip Intro by the Leipzig artist later this month.
We’ve become strong advocates of the music Leipzig native Lorenz Lindner makes under the name Mix Mup, either alongside kindred spirit Kassem Mosse or in a solo capacity on 12″s for Mikrodisko and Hinge Finger. News of Lindner’s return to The Trilogy Tapes after that fine split KM/MM LP with Mosse several years back first filtered through towards the end of 2014 in the form of a typically crackling “Curtain Scene”. In the subsequent flurry of TTT-related activity that promises some excellent music committed to vinyl from Rezzett, Battista & EMG, and DJ Spider and Marshallito, the label has confirmed the imminent arrival of this Mix Mup release.
Taking the title Skip Intro, the four-track 12″ is due for release later this month and comes brandishing yet more finely illustrated cover art from Will Bankhead. A further taste of what to expect from the record can be sought via the below stream of title track “Skip Intro” where crisp and unpredictable polyrhythms brush up against typically nocturnal textures. The aforementioned new 12″ from Rezzett is scheduled for release at the same time too.
The Trilogy Tapes will relase Skip Intro by Mix Mup on February 23.
