The MIDI specialists introduce a new line of USB keyboard controllers to their cache.
Originally founded under the name Midiman in 1988, the since rebranded M-Audio has remained a relied maker of MIDI-focused software and hardware products with their range of soundcards and keyboards now a company focal point. Expanding on their strengths, M-Audio recently unveiled their new Code range at this year’s NAMM which follows on from the Oxygen, Keystation and Axiom AIR lines. Available in 25, 49 and 61 key sizes, the USB MIDI keyboard controllers are automatically mappable to professional DAWs like Pro Tools, Ableton Live and Logic, to GarageBand and Steinberg’s Cubase.
Each Code model comes with 16 velocity-sensitive, assignable drum pads, semi-weighted keys for extra piano-like tactility, MIDI Input and Output jacks to connect up with other outboard gear, a six digit LED display and assignable faders and pan pots. Additionally, Ableton Live Lite, AIR Music Technology Loom and Hybrid software packages are inclusive of all Codes and each model comes with a X/Y touchpad which can control anything from volume and panning to filter sweeps.
