Latency Recordings returns with Madteo record

The Parisian label will issue the Raveyard Shifts EP late next month.

If there was one word to characterise the Latency Recordings label it would be quality. From the time the Paris operation first emerged in 2013 with Post Industrial by Innerspace Halflife, it has become evident founders Sidney Gerard and Suleiman Said have refined tastes in electronic music and possess a clear idea on how they want their records to be presented. Subsequent releases from Joey Anderson and Even Tuell have become prized records whilst last year’s Mura Oka album from Gerard and his friend Louis Vial was one of 2014’s most underrated long players.

It’s now emerged the label’s fifth release finds Gerard and Said looking across the Atlantic and honing in on Queens-based Italian producer Matteo Ruzzon, aka Madteo, for the three-track Raveyard Shift EP. Due to arrive next month, the 12″ represents the first new original material from Ruzzon in some time, with last year’s output consisting of a vinyl issue of his Mad Dip Revue cassette for The Trilogy Tapes, and several remixes – though Madteo remixes do tend to sound like almost entirely new productions! All three tracks from the record can be previewed below and expect the final product – replete with the below artwork courtesty of Louise Ernandez – to be just as handsome as previous Latency releases.

Latency Recordings will release Raveyard Shifts in late February.
