Silent Servant meets Broken English Club

The transatlantic pairing will appear on a joint Cititrax release entitled Violence And Divinity. 

For the techno community, Juan Mendez (pictured above) needs little introduction, and his ongoing dalliance with Veronica Vasicka’s labels commenced last year when the Downwards America operator contributed a Silent Servant remix of The KVB to the Immaterial Visions Remixes EP issued on Cititrax. Since then, Mendez has featured on the pair of Sandra Electronics editions issued by Minimal Wave earlier this year. A relationship with Oliver Ho’s Broken English Club was first fostered when the English techno producer debuted the project on the Jealous God label that Mendez holds down a role as visual director in (read our review of that here).

If you’ve read or heard interviews with Veronica Vasicka this year, you will probably be aware that Cititrax were planning to issue a joint release from Silent Servant and Broken English Club, full details of which were revealed last night. Due for release next month, Violence And Divinity features two tracks from each artist with “love, death, modernity and automobile crashes” some of the themes explored throughout. By the sounds of the previews available at the Minimal Wave site, the Silent Servant tracks fall into a similar, muscular EBM-infused groove to his recent Streetwalker remix, whilst Ho’s efforts will appeal to anyone that indulged in his aforementioned Jealous God issue.

Cititrax will release Violence And Divinity by Silent Servant and Broken English Club on September 30.
