Preview the return of Joe on Hemlock

Joe’s latest effort for Hemlock Recordings is best described as warped – listen to the title cut here.

As previously reported, the producer known simply as Joe will will grace Untold’s Hemlock Recordings for a third time next month with the amusingly titled Punters Step Out 12″. The Hessle Audio debutante has released a steady stream of two-track EPs since his emergence with the Grimelight EP in 2009, and has only recently served up one of the EPs of the year for BUFO, Pangaea and Pearson Sound’s label in the shape of Slope. As you will find from streaming “Punters Step Out” below, Joe’s capacity for embracing weirdness is matched by few other producers currently operating. The track is described by Hemlock as “one part dub techno with 2 parts drunken hammond”, to our ears, however, it sounds like a merry-go-round and transistor radio strapped together and thrown down a freakish rabbit hole.
