Rrose, Lucy, Lakker and Kangding Ray remix Dadub for Stroboscopic Artefacts

Stroboscopic Artefacts duo Dadub will precede their forthcoming debut album with a remix EP featuring an all-star cast of techno characters, including Rrose and Lucy.

Better known as Daniele Antezza and Giovanni Conti, the duo are responsible for the mastering, production and engineering on all Stroboscopic Artefacts releases, and have already contributed three releases to the label’s catalogue so far, showing a uniquely scientific approach to sound design. Their debut album You Are Eternity is due for release in February and sees the pair delve further into this approach, with the label describing it as “a continuous piece rather than twelve discreet tracks”.

To counteract the slightly less dancefloor friendly nature of the album, Stroboscopic Artefacts will precede it with a remix EP rather cannily titled Preternity featuring an all-star cast of techno producers in Sandwell District alumnus Rrose, Stroboscopic Artefacts boss Lucy, Raster Noton artist Kangding Ray and Killekill duo Lakker. Rrose’s offers a pulsing remix of “Life” which is reminiscent of his own “Waterfall”, Lakker apply their broken, threadbare rhythms to “Path”, Lucy annoints “Death”with dubby chords and swung rhythms, whilst Kangding Ray delivers a minimal take on “Existence” filled with subtle African-inspired melodies.

Stroboscopic Artefacts will release Preternity on 12″ and digital formats on January 21, 2013.

Tracklisting:

A1. Death (Lucy remix)
