Domino reveal Motion Sickness remix collection

Domino Recording Co. will collate a heady selection of the countless remixes for key label artists they have in their discography on a forthcoming compilation entitled Motion Sickness.

Taking its name from the opening track on the recent Hot Chip album, the 20 track selection finds space for two of our favourite remixes of recent times in Daphni’s excellent EBM referencing remix of Hot Chip’s “Night & Day” and the Still Going revision of Austra, but overall Motion Sickness hammers home just how diverse the Domino A&R dept has been when it comes to commissioning remixes for their label roster. Carl Craig’s Grammy award winning remix of “Like A Child” by Junior Boys naturally features as does Joy Orbison’s fuzzy edged rendition of Four Tet’s “Love Cry” and Theo Parrish’s epic wronged up take on About Group – a situation where Mr Parrish first met recent Sound Signature signee Andrew Ashong.

Remixes of Tricky and Juana Molina from Maya J Coles and Reboot respectively demonstrate Domino’s willingness to dip into techier territory where necessary, and there’s even a joyful nod to those playful electro house years with Fake Blood, Justice and SebastiAn commissions included. Special mention to Domino for including Mike Simonetti’s rare as hen’s teeth take on Devonte Hynes’ Blood Orange project and DFA’s “Superstition” riffing Clinic remix as well as enlisting Liquid Liquid’s Dennis Young to design the cover art.

Domino will release Motion Sickness on Double CD on December 3 – check the Carl Craig Junior Boys remix below.
