Shackleton & Hieroglyphic Being among new Unsound additions

The organisors behind Unsound have announced a rather mouth-watering second wave of line-up additions for the forthcoming event in Krakow.

This year sees Unsound celebrate its 10th edition in the Polish city with an overaching, mysterious and quite ominous theme of The End, and as we reported the lineup’s  first wave of  names made for a typically diverse read with with Sasha Grey’s aTelecine, V/Vm, Julia Holter, Tim Hecker and Oneohtrix Point Never all present.

The festival looks all the more enticing for the new additions announced today, with the presence of the untouchable Jamal Moss an undoubted highlight. Operating on the fringes of house for some fifteen years, the Mathematics boss will be performing his uniquely brain melting brand of rhythmic throb live under his most recognisable name Hieroglyphic Being, and is joined on the billing by another uncompromising musical figure from Chicago in the form of Juke expert Traxman, who will be DJing.

His Planet Mu label mate Kuedo will be performing live as will Shackleton, who last played at Unsound in 2010 with the festival organisors no doubt keen to have the Woe To The Septic Heart boss return on the back of recent epic Music For The Quiet Hour/The Drawbar Organ release. Monolake’s Robert Henke also returns to present his renowned and unique audiovisual project ATOM, whilst there are several names who will be performing at the festival for the first time.

Chief amongst them is Vatican Shadow, Dominik Fernow’s industrial project that’s seen some eardrum shredding appearances on Blackest Ever Black and Bed Of Nails lately, and the American is joined by Hyperdub’s Coldplay loving Cooly G, Tri Angle’s new wunderkind Evian Christ and Voices From The Lake, the collaboration between Italian techno artists Donato Dozzy and Neel.

Unsound Krakow takes place on October 14-21, and expect more line-up additions to emerge over the coming weeks.
