Optimo Music announce Psyche reissue

The excellent Optimo Music imprint have announced their next release, a four track EP from long-running synth-pop outfit Psyche.

According to the label’s Soundcloud page, Optimo Music boss JD Twitch has been a fan of the band since 1986, and won his first DJ gig in 1987 after impressing the club owners by playing Psyche’s “Prisoner To Desire”. However, the idea for this release came when he recently heard Psyche’s version of Optimo anthem “Goodbye Horses” by Q Lazzarus. This led to Twitch approaching the band and building up an instant rapport which led to plans for a four track reissue. Psyche’s version of “Goodbye Horses” can be heard below.

Despite running a label, JD Twitch has evidently found enough time to work on his production career, recently finishing a remix for former Black Strobe member David Shaw, the results of which can be heard below.

As well as this you can catch Optimo DJing at Corsica Studios on Easter Thursday (April 5), where they will be joining forces with Stopmakingme to run Room 2 of Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnson’s A Love From Outer Space party – making its first foray out of Stoke Newington to celebrate the launch of its first compilation. Full details and tickets can be found here.
