Tomas Barfod unveils album details

Danish producer extraordinaire Tomas Barfod will take time off drumming duties for WhoMadeWho to deliver an album for the Los Angeles label Friends Of Friends.

Barfod needs no real introduction to anyone with a passing interest in the past decade of dance music, complementing his work with the aforementioned punk funk pranksters with a steady stream of solo material on the Gomma imprint under his Tomboy alias as well as some great work alongside fellow Dane Kasper Bjorke – their 2010 Superbacon EP for the Mirau label was particularly memorable.

News of Barfod signing to Friends of Friends is slightly surprising given the beat driven nature of the label’s releases to date from the likes of Salva, Daedelus and Shlohmo. Regardless, Barfod’s first album under his own name is called Salton Sea and is due for release on May 21 – it will be preceded by the release of an EP on March 20 entitled Broken Glass, which features remixes from Uncanny Valley mainstay Jacob Korn and Friends of Friends beat head Shlohmo.
