If you are yet to fall under the spell of London based Australian outfit HTRK (pronounced “Hate Rock”), we suggest you check out the clip for the frankly stunning “Poison”.
One of the highlights from their strikingly beautiful album Work Work Work, jointly released last year on Ghostly International and Blast First Petite, the clip for “Poison” was directed by Obi Chidi (aka o.b.i.), who proffered some insight into the concept behind the video: “The head honcho Zephi, and his wife Natasha invite HTRK to their club in Los Angeles and then somebody spikes Jonny’s drink .. and she has this giant Alice in Wonderland trip, which they turn into a film and promote on a TV talk show.”
The band, whose sound touches on a mix of industrial, post-punk and cold wave aesthetics, have already gained plenty of admirers in high places, not least UK techno icon Regis, with the band performing alongside L.A. duo Tropic Of Cancer on several occasions last year.
