The release will maintain the fine Glass Table tradition of bawdy cover art (see above), although the picture disc contains a deeply odd homage to a certain ubiquitous furniture store.
The three original tracks – all of which will appear on the aforementioned long player – are joined on this release by a remix of “Esteban Peligro” by Appleblim and Al Tourettes. The EP sees the Swede join a small but impressive group of Glass Table alumni that includes Jimmy Edgar (our favourite so far), Kyle Hall, Soul Clap and Catz & Dogz.
A natural fit into the Glass Table aesthetic of odd yet sultry house music, it’s the steel drums and irresistible vocal samples on “Esteban Peligro” that linger longest in the memory. However the Bristolian dream team of Al Tourettes and Appleblim, who have already done sterling remix work for Planetary Assault Systems and Linkwood, do a fine job of reworking “Esteban Peligro” into a tough slice of bass heavy broken beat.
Boman is closely affiliated with DJ Koze’s Pampa imprint as well as the Studio Barnhus label he runs with Kornél Kovács and Petter Nordkvist – indeed details of his next SB 12″ were revealed by Juno Plus just last week.
The Lucky Tiger EP is scheduled for release in August.
