Uncanny Valley ready Jacob Korn EP

Dresden imprint Uncanny Valley have announced full details of their fifth release, a departure from previous output that sees Jacob Korn take full control with She, a solo EP which also features remixes from Juno Plus favourites John Talabot and Iron Curtis.

The label has cut an impressive swathe to date with a series of various artist EPs showcasing the rich musical talent that Dresden has to offer. Despite being grounded in house and techno, each release has demonstrated that Korn and his Dresden cohorts are not afraid to add their own unique personality to the established templates – the third release in particular was the most weird and wonderful to date. Throw in some distinctively themed artwork and Uncanny Valley has been one of the most exciting labels to emerge in recent times.

The fifth release throws the focus on Jacob Korn in the first of a series of artist EPs from the label and sees him finally unleash “She”, which has been a fixture of his live set since last summer. The track is one of those elongated techno epics that reaches from the murky depths all the way towards a glorious cacophony of marimbas and strings. In addition to remixes from Iron Curtis and Hivern Disc don John Talabot (our pick of the bunch) there is a further original track from Korn in the shape of “Once Love”.

Starting with this release, all Uncanny Valley output will see different artists contribute to the artwork. Valérie-Françoise Vogt was commissioned to provide the above art for Korn’s EP with a tasty melding of aquarelle painting and digital image processing.

Uncanny Valley will release She by Jacob Korn on vinyl and digital formats in June.

Tracklisting:

1. Jacob Korn – She
2. Jacob Korn – Once Love
