Field Day XOYO bash with Omar S – Free Entry

The Field Day pre party taking place at East End venue XOYO this weekend, which features a headline DJ set from FXHE boss Omar S has now been announced as a free party all night to celebrate the launch of the new Field Day website!

It’s been relatively busy on the Omar S front in 2011, with the fabulous “Here’s Your Trance Now Dance” single released in typically confident one-sided coloured vinyl style in February, and now stands perfectly poised for summer time ubiquity.

Perhaps more interesting is his role in the follow up FXHE release – a remix of the aforementioned synth heavy anthem from Shadow Ray. Perhaps best known in house music circles as the co-producer of the Oasis 1, 13, 13 ½ and 14 releases with Omar S, Ray is also well known to Michigan’s Ryan Correctional Facility for more nefarious reasons. The Detroit-based producer has spent the past four years at Ryan earning not only a hard knocked life but a trade in Sound Engineering – that was until Omar S made a presentation to the facility’s parole board to commission a remix of “Here’s Your Trance Now Dance” as part of Ray’s work release program!

And be sure to keep an eye and ear open for more forthcoming FXHE material, which includes a split 12″ boasting a new Omar S track and a re-issue of Mark Kinchen’s seminal US garage jam “Given” (first released on Area 10 back in 1993).

Supporting on the night will be Midland, who has a rather nice little EP coming up on Will Saul’s Aus imprint backed by a Tevo Howard remix. They will joined by London man about town Casper C, Skull Juice’s Benedict Bull, Huntleys & Palmer’s and Secret Danger Society. The event will take place on Saturday, May 7 – full details below.

Field Day proper will take place on August 6 – more on that here.
